A possible sequel to this and that …
House CAT – Your average, “blogging about my life” blogger. May seem boring, but some people’s lives are strangely entertaining.
CAT-alyst – Blogs for change.
CAT-astrophe – Writes one of those god-awful blogs that you can’t believe anyone actually reads. I’m sure you’ve run across a few. Usually has more ads than content.
Copy CAT – The scraper and the splogger, who gets all of their content from other hard working bloggers. May not know what they’re doing is wrong.
CAT Burglar – Same as above, but most definitely DOES know what they’re doing is wrong.
Alley CAT – One who is teetering on the brink of becoming one of the two above. Hangs out is some poorly chosen back alley’s of the intertubez.
CAT-acomb – Has created a deep and winding archive that can cause one to get lost while exploring. Some interesting things may be found during the excursion.
CAT-apult – Constantly launching their blog to the next level. Sometimes stratospheric shots, sometimes short range hits.
CAT-echism – Religious blogger.
Scaredy-CAT – Afraid of offending anyone or saying anything that anyone would disagree with. In trying to please everyone, doesn’t please anyone.
CAT-aract – Writes so well that they cloud your own viewpoint. Tends to have raving fans, whether or not what they write actually has any clarity.
CAT scan – Posts aren’t really worth reading all the way through.
CAT-tle – Doesn’t have their own opinion about anything, and just follows what the crowd or the blogging cowboys say.
CAT-amaran – Currently riding a big wave of success.
How do you CAT-egorize yourself? Can you think of any more CAT-egories?

I reckon I’m part Housecat and part Cat Burglar (well natch, since I swiped this post from elsewhere).
I hope I’m not CAT-atonic…

How about this one?
CAT pan — always criticizing everything, nothing will please them, and constantly trying to bury the competition…

I think I’m in danger of being CAT-tle…
What are the rules regarding pointing to other blogs and accrediting them, anyway? I don’t want to be a Copy-CAT.
(my post before this seems to have evaporated…maybe)

Is cat-chy a cat blogger with a cold, ombudsben? 😉

I’m not sure what kind I am. I think I may aim for the CAT-acomb. I hope that my blog is not disastrously CAT-aclysmal.
I also came up with:
CAT-aphoric: blogging about things that haven’t happened yet
(Sorry, this is linguist humor. A cataphor is a use of a pronoun before the full noun with which it’s co-indexed. Like the she in Before she left, Mary fed the cats.)

If your sniffly cat blogger, azahar, were crazy enough to eat nuts for a cure, she’d be cat-shew.

Well, house cats do tend to be content, dq.
Alejna, I rescued your comment from the spam litter box – interesting! It’s always nice to learn something new.
Ombudsben, it’s probably better if I don’t comment on your last groaner of a pun… 😉
So how about CAT-o’-nine-tales? For those bloggers who have a limited number of stories to tell and keep rehashing the same nine ‘plots’ (a bit like Shakespeare).

I haven´t got a blog but have a few ideas about how it could be.
the layout must be simple, easy to use and move around and with not hard colours like black, red, or too shining spots, don´t know how people can´t notice that is annoying for the sight.
The content. It must be something more than a veiled narcisistic site, you should spice it with something assorted,it should keep something surprising, even the links should be tuned in another melody different to yours. Someone loves, let´s say garlic, ok,a few links about garlic power, garlic T-shirts, garlic and onions…but please something else, something not so predictable.
It´s funny, this afternoon I´ve been in several blogs; beside the I-me-my stuff, the music, books, films I like… nothing more. Maybe a few ramblings about some controversial topics. But the boredom comes from the WAY things are treated, there´s not creativity or an effort to make your possible guests feel amused… You get the feeling that they are showing off how smart, cool are.
But… this rambling of mine makes me wonder
what are the reasons to open a blog?

There are probably as many reasons as there are people, Mariangus. And there are certainly no ‘rules’. If other people find your blog interesting then they will read it and maybe even comment on it. Though I’ve also seen some quite interesting blogs that hardly receive any comments at all. Again – no rules.
It’s really not much different than having your personal space on h2g2, with the journal entries and all, but there is less of a specific community out here in the blogosphere. Still, it’s quite interesting how quickly you end up finding other blogs you like and also how quickly other people find yours.
Why don’t you try it? And if you did start a blog … what sort of cat blogger would you be?

I´m still in the cat-erpillar state. I´d like a kind of cat-alyist site like yours. I´d like to cat-er for smiles. It wouldn´t be a cat-alogue of my narcissism or a obtuse dark cat-hedral where I´m the only one who can enter.
I must think about it as I have a tendency to be verbose and don´t want to cat-arrh people with my life.

Ha! Go for it, gatita.
You’ll see, it’s quite fun and can even be somewhat addictive – even cat-hartic.
The other main differences between here and h2g2 is that you can edit your posts and comments, upload photos and videos, and basically say ‘fuck’ should the opportunity present itself. 😉
