Yes, extraordinary how lazy we are – we’d mostly rather someone else do all that, than just do one little thing ourselves. But then, we’re not really a collective society I suppose – Ants, now, or termites or bees, they’d never stand for this kind of nonsense!

Boy is that ever the truth. Several years ago I got sick and tired of telling people to put their plastic silverware in my sink when I had a party. They would ask me if I re-used them. So I invested about $30 in cheap stainless silverware – which got me 3 dozen each of forks, spoons and knives. No one ever asks if I re-use metal stuff.

And we’re the best the universe has to offer? You’ve really depressed me now, Az…

Oops, sorry about that John. It kind of reminds me of the chapter in one of Michael Moore’s books (can’t remember which one at the moment) where the old man is reminiscing about plastic while he and his young granddaughter sit in a candlelit shack somewhere in the near future.

Good one, I’m going to buy some metal spoons.

Googling ‘absurd thoughts’ I came upon this interesting bit of absurdity linking from another site. Well done, good points and food for thought!

Wow. I kind of want to email that photo to everyone in my office. Of course, then they’d know I don’t do any work, I just read blogs.

    Hi magpie and welcome. :)

I wish I could remember where I found this picture now – it was something I stumbled upon awhile ago. I actually hadn’t planned on blogging it, just saved it for myself, otherwise I’d have kept the source to credit it. Anyhow, glad that you (and others) liked it.
