diana porter jewellery
it’s about wisdom, it’s about togetherness whilst being separate,
it’s about change, it’s about the spirit in all of us, it’s about tiny precious moments,
it’s about knowing and not knowing…and on and on…
Ever since my friend Lizzie in Bristol sent me a small catalogue of Diana Porter’s fabulous jewellery (about ten years ago?) I have longed to own, well, almost everything she makes. But I especially like the sibyl necklace collection. It’s been interesting to notice how my preferred words have changed over the years. I think if I were to get one of these today I would pick: strong, joyful and listen.
The choice of words for this collection are: calm, clarity, confident, flexibility, fulfilled, humour, joyful, listen, open, play, pleasure, powerful, responsibility, safe, secure, space, strong, sure, unafraid, vision, warm.
Which words would you choose?

oddly enough, I think the first three words speak to me most strongly: calm, clarity, confident (except that I’d want it to be ‘confidence’, to match the other nouns).
I think I would choose calm, powerful, open — all things I must be to do the work I do in the way I do it.
I guess I am still looking for a list of words that can be credibly inscribed on a set of brass knuckles.
*snort*
Psychotic
Cannibalistic
Ruthless…
Nah, that’s raincoaster …
Never underestimate me!
Damn straight it is!

I am she of the sibyls and told az earlier that mine are sadly lost – having been lost in their original pewter a very long time ago, then replaced as a gift from the lovely Di Porter herself in silver etched with gold, I have now to admit that I haven’t had them in my hand or round my neck for nearly 2 years. I kept hoping I would find them – still do really. They were STRONG, WARM, VISION, and I miss them. I also lost my Di Porter charm bracelet this week end (one of the charms is a set of mini sibyls) in a bloody field. Gutted. Anyway – there is my story! Love you az. xxx
Weird coincidence that I thought of this post before hearing about you losing the charm bracelet. Then this morning I found the postcard you sent me of DP’s stuff on top of a stack of papers in Lua’s room. Cue Twilight Zone music…
Love ya back! And I think your words are lovely too.
This is my Pandora bracelet as it is at the moment
