cheap flights

September 28, 2010

Lizzie showed me this yesterday morning after printing out my boarding pass – it’s absolutely brilliant! Have to admit I got a bit nervous when we landed in Sevilla and they told us to leave by the back exit – one of the passengers must have seen this too because she turned to me and said, “I hope they’re not going to make us jump!”  :)

And I loved being there! After hectic London it was so nice to slow down for a bit (well, except for when we got Mauled). And your delicious organic packed lunch saw me all the way to Sevilla – had the egg & cheese tart for lunch on the train from Bristol to Paddington, then had the Spanish snacks on the plane while I watched Mad Men on the laptop. Perfect!

Also loving “save the feeling” … told Nog that is our new toast. What a fluke that I ended up with that one, eh? (note Canadianism)

I really think you need to look for some cheap flights to Sevilla soon…

It’s like an obscene, female, Irish Flanders and Swann.

Ha! I thought of you while I was watching this and knew you’d love it. They don’t always do Oirish – that choice was clearly a tribute to Ryanair.

Travel is fun and it is good for the soul yet there is nothing quite so satisfying as that first night back in your own bed.

That video was fantastic! I think I’ll have to watch it again. And I know I’ll think of it next time I get stuck paying annoying airline fees.

I’m glad you had a good trip!

With Vueling the only extras charges I had were 20€ for my suitcase and 8€ to use my credit card. That last one really shocked me – as they point out in the video, how the feck else are you supposed to pay online???

It really was a fabulous trip.

Wonderful vid – and I’m glad all the travel plans dovetailed into place for you.

It actually took less time – and was much less stressful – travelling from Bristol to Heathrow than it was getting from Heathrow to Hackney. Though my last Hackney to Paddington trip was made much more pleasant having Sara & Steve with me.

Love all those new memories we made, Teuchter. Still making me smile.

    That’s so funny!

Glad you had such a good trip – and the weather behaved too!

There is nothing such as a free lunch…

I loathe these so called cheap flights. They start from nowhere, lands in nowhere, everything costs extra – so in the long run you don’t save much money at all.

The old fashioned ones have their advantages – my BA bonus miles will take me to Seville soon :)

Well, I did travel with Vueling (the BA cheapy airline), which is quite a few rungs up the ladder compared to bloody Ryanair. Aside from slight delays on both ends, didn’t really find it unpleasant at all. And of course the real bonus was that I flew direct from Sevilla to Heathrow.
