Borracha’s Vinquiz pairs your personality with a unique bottle of cult wine and delivers it to you with a personality profile, tasting notes and pairing suggestions.
I came across this quiz while doing some research for Victoria this morning, and as much as I wanted to end up with Botani I kept getting Pargua…
What did you get?
Take the Borracha Vinquiz.

You are on a journey of spiritual exploration and conservation. Your views of the world trump mainstream philosophies, preferring ‘The Four Agreements’ and ‘The Secret’ to US Weekly and TMZ. If wine was on your vision board, it would be a photo of Pargua II.
Pargua, meaning ‘full moon’ in the Mapuche language, is an example of what organic and sustainable practices can achieve in the wine industry. Wine maker Juan Pascal Lacaze has manifested a vibrant, expressive, and harmonious wine that is connected with nature, not only in grapes but every aspect from growth to service.
Less than 3,000 cases of Pargua II was produced in 2006. Praised by Robert Parker and countless wine critic’s as an exceptional wine, both in taste and wine making practices, this boutique wine makes you appreciate the artist as much as the grape.

I retook the quiz giving my least likely answers and got the same again… Well, it does explain the ‘unique bottle of cult wine’ remark. More seriously, there must be something wrong in the evaluation process.

What, the Pargua? I’ve never tried it, but I’ve had some very nice Chilean wines before.
If you can get your hands on some Botani I’m quite sure you’d love it.

OK, I really do like wines from Chile, and I would clearly give this one a try.

I think the hint is that we should all buy a bottle of this stuff. Maybe they have all 6,000 bottles stacked in the warehouse still?

Yeah, I got Pargua too, they must be loaded on it.
What I want to know is how they get to this from my identifying with the line “Every once in a while you meet someone you shouldn’t have fucked with and that’s me.”

Hmm…I clicked the Clint Eastwood quote, and Julia Child, and that I pay attention to fine points but not gospel. 😉 The first time I got the Moscato Bottani, Spain, 2009 (the very dry white…which is what I’d generally choose.) The second time, with one answer different (the one about how I’d spend my last 24 hours) I got the cabernet.
I’m nothing if not unpredictable…lately, I’m trying to sort out the local Finger Lakes Rieslings. And an aged Finger Lakes catawba (nobody ages catawba, it’s a very new taste to me…) from a very small winery called Silver Springs. They only sell it only at the winery, which means I have to take a trip down there to get more. 😉

I’m not surprised you got Botani… and now you have to try it! Even if you get these guys to send it to you for $20 it’s still a good buy. Make sure you ask for 2009.

Hmmm…. I tried to cut and paste but it didn’t work and now I’ve forgotten what I got. Something spanish… it should have been a shiraz though. It’s the wine I usually drink and it suits my personality too
