friday foto finder – welcome

This week’s Friday Foto Finder challenge is “welcome”.
These are all the welcome mats in my apartment building. I think my favourite one is the lower centre one which says “Apartment for sale, 110 sq metres, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, etc”. Can you guess which one is mine?

Nice welcome pics! I guess yours is the one with the stars…
And we have a winner! They are Moroccan stars, or muslim stars, I’m not sure… a symbol often used in mudejar architecture. I picked that welcome mat up at a little shop for 3€ about ten years ago, and when I moved into the “new casa az” last year it fit right in with everybody else’s mats. In my old place almost nobody had welcome mats outside their doors, and so it was kind of cool to see that everyone here did. Made me feel, you know, welcome!
I almost bought a mat once that said Go Away, but it would confuse clients.

I would’ve guessed the one with the cats – but there isn’t one. I like the ‘For Sale’ one too, clever idea.
Here’s a great idea for a ‘welcome mat’.
Imagine a black plate of welcome mat dimensions with a LED screen spelling out the word ‘Welcome’, but as soon as you stand on it, it changes to a set of scales that shouts your weight out.
It would either assist weight loss in struggling dieters or encourage gentle aerobics (in the form of the jump to avoid the welcome mat) every time you come in or out of your home.
Great mats though. I think the no smoking one if my favourite. It would be amusing if it had a cigarette burn in it though xD
