Today’s Photohunter theme is “jiggly”.
Yep, “the girls” are jiggly, and so is my belly.
This is me showing off my first scar … I’ve had more since.

Nog finally got his Christmas prezzie yesterday!
It’s very cool. A flip-top Nokia mobile phone (named Hamish – geddit?) to replace the five-year-old beater he’s been using. But what an ordeal to get the thing. I first saw it in November and tried to “purchase” it then – I was going to use my mobile phone bonus points to buy it. But after much faffing around the salesclerk informed me that I couldn’t use my points again until January 10th. Bummer. So on Christmas day I gave Nog a photo of his upcoming-prezzie instead, and went to pick it up last Monday. No way. There was some problem with the place that approves the point system thingy … and so finally last night we managed to get it. The sales clerk laughed when I handed the package to Nog and said “Feliz Navidad!”, and then joined in the fun, wishing Nog the best of the season. Ha.
It’s the first time Nog has had a mobile phone that did more than just, well, phone people. This one has a camera and a radio, and some other doodads that he’ll probably never use. But what the heck. The best feature on this phone is the flip-top thing, as Nog always carries his phone in his pocket (with keys, coins, etc) and so this will protect the screen better. Plus it’s rather nifty looking, doncha think? And it was fun having another Christmas.

This is very true…
But a clean PET scan is the best birthday present ever!
I have to admit that I’m still processing all this. As many of you know, I was pretty tied up in knots about this latest PET scan (my fourth). Partly due to the timing … my recurrence last March happened six months after finishing chemo, and this was also six months since I finished chemo for the second time in July. And partly because for the past few weeks I’ve been experiencing some pretty bad abdominal pain. I was half-convinced the cancer was back, and started beating myself up for not doing the whole “anti-cancer” antioxidant diet, for not losing weight and getting super-fit, for not … being perfect? I dunno. I just felt I could have done better and was sure I was now going to be “punished” for not having done so (those sicko Catholic upbringings take a lot of getting over). Anyhow, I was a mess. And so, when I hadn’t heard from the hospital about my PET scan appointment last week I started pestering The Team…

Ha! My buddy WeeRascal sent me a link to this new iPhone app yesterday, featuring Simon’s Cat. So I checked it out, saw it cost 1.59€ and wondered if it was worth it … then decided, what the heck. And the first image made me laugh out loud, so I reckon I’ve already got my money’s worth. 🙂
The app is actually quite fun and good timing too as I found out yesterday that I’m having a PET scan this morning (!). Things got a bit screwed up with my appointment (which was supposed to be for last week, instead they booked it for the 21st), and I finally got a call from Ricardo saying they had a cancellation and could squeeze me in today. So during the various waiting stages at the hospital I’ll have another toy to play with.
And speaking of cats that make me laugh, check out total look of indignant innocence on this one’s face. Found this when I got home from yoga – up to his old tricks again …
