… but damn this is a nice bonus!
Awhile back I suggested to Málaga wine goddess Victoria Ordoñez that she move the WordPress.com blog she’s had for over a year now to her newly re-designed website, so as to incorporate the two better. And I said I could help her do that. You can see her new blog here, which I think turned out very nice. And today I received my “payment” for the blog move… a case of Botani!
You have to understand that ever since tasting Botani up in the Málaga mountains where this beautifully fragrant, yet gorgeously dry, moscatel was born, it has become my favourite white wine. But as it costs about double the usual casa az house white (a nice verdejo from Rueda), Botani is a rare treat for me. So it really is a wonderful thing having a case to myself to enjoy over the summer. The second case is for me to use at my discretion, in my Sevilla Tapas role, to distribute to tapas bars and restaurants I feel should have this very special wine on their menu.
Another nice bonus today was running into a neighbour who ended up hiring me for a freelance gig setting up his holiday apartments online. Now that *will* help with the rent, at least this month.
And now I think I am going to enjoy a glass of my favourite wine – I’ve earned it!

Last December I made my first About.me pages – one for azahar and one for Sevilla Tapas. Since starting to revamp the azahar-sevilla.com site the other day I thought it would be a good idea to make a new online business card for my new venture. What do you think?

So okay, this came about yesterday while wondering how the heckity Nog was going to not just get through the summer, but also get by in general, teaching English classes here.
For the past year or so he hasn’t been doing well in that department and so, instead of trying to flog that tired old horse (I gave up trying to make a living teaching after getting off last chemo two years ago) I came up with this brilliant idea – private walking tours!
And very special tours, where Nog would take people to unusual and “not on the tourist map” places, perhaps throw in a coffee break, and also give advice on other great places to visit, fab tapas bars and other stuff people want to know. I think it’s going to be a winner.
Of course he is a bit nervous, but in fact he knows more about the history of Sevilla than I do, and I know he loves teaching and sharing knowledge, so I really think this is going to be up his street. And now to get busy promoting it – wish him luck!

Here it is, revamped and updated and all that jazz. Well, almost. But quite a lot of work has been done on my azahar-sevilla.com page and I wanted to ask for some feedback. So many people have told me that I should get people to advertise on Sevilla Tapas, but that is really my own personal project and I don’t want anyone to think that I’m being paid to put tapas bars and restaurants on that blog.
But this information page about Sevilla is open to advertisers simply because it’s got such a variety of information in it that hotels, restaurants and whoever else wants to are welcome to place an ad. At over 500 visits a day I reckon it’s an attractive advertising option for local businesses.
So what do you think? Bear in mind that not all of the pages are finished (those will be obvious to spot) but I’d love to know if there are any glaring omissions or just anything that doesn’t seem to work. If you were coming to Sevilla for a holiday, what would you really want to know about before you arrived?
