I came across this short video in my files while looking for something else and my heart stopped for a moment. I took this just over a year ago, one afternoon when Azar had been feeling poorly and came over to me for some comforting. And so here is one more snibble with my darling boy. I can still feel his soft soft fur and how he’d rub his cheek against my hand…

I think it was the third time I watched this video that I totally broke down and sobbed like my heart was going to break, saying over and over “I just want him back!” I know I have purposely pushed my grief as far away as I can because even the bits that sneak in are too much for me to handle. Yes, we were so lucky to have each other for 17 years. But I still don’t know how to live without him.
