Happy Caturday everybody. It’s been two and a half weeks since Morcilla had her surgery to remove the mystery lump on her little head. As you can see she has made a full recovery and at this point you can barely see the scar over her right eye any more. A shout out to Sonia and her fabulous team at Centro Veterinario Triana for taking such good care of us this past month or so, first for helping with Loki’s sudden illness and death and then getting Morcilla back to health. Not only super professional and capable, but also very compassionate and caring.
Please don’t take it the wrong way when I say thatΒ I hope I won’t have to see you again for a long while but I am so grateful knowing you are there. Thanks again for everything! π§‘πββ¬πΎ

It was a brief but possibly significant moment. Morcilla and Luna were suddenly on top of the little side table, studiously ignoring each other, but no hissing or spitting going on. Anyhow, I nowΒ feel okay leaving the bedroom door open at night, and also leaving them on their own when both of us have to be out. We may be getting there! ππ»

This is really just wishful thinking… a pic taken a couple of years ago. Since Morcilla’s operation Luna has been so hostile towards her, growling and hissing if she gets too close. At first I thought it was because of the “vet smell” or that the cone was scaring Luna, but even without those things she is still being weird. It could be because since the op I’ve been keeping Morcilla “locked in” with me at night and also shut her in my room when both Peter and I are out, so maybe Luna feels excluded? I dunno. But tonight we go back to normal in that I will start keeping my bedroom door ajar again and remove Morcilla’s “camping gear” (food dishes and litter box) so that both cats can have access if they want. It would be so nice to see them cuddle up together again.
