Just got an email from the NaBloPoMo guys about the Blog 365 group, where members will be trying to post every day in 2008. Does this sound like total madness to you? To be honest, I’m somewhat tempted to join up and give it a go . . . but what if I actually get a life in 2008?
As a non-blogger, I’m not really qualified to comment.
But
Mrs BBJP would go mad if I commited to blogging (or anything net related) to include a period when we were, for example, on holiday.

Well, I don’t really go ‘on holiday’ as such. In fact, taking two short trips this year was a bit of a record for me. Most vacation time is spent at home, so that’s actually a good time for me to blog a lot.
Anyhow, it’s not a bigtime major commitment or anything, and apparently you can backdate posts. And so I signed up yesterday – here’s my page! π

Well it’s horses for courses – of course π
As I say, as a non blogging lurker I know that I couldn’t commit to it – even without the (quite genuine) excuse of Mrs. BBJP.

Wow, azahar. I wish I could join you. But I’m afraid I have to cut down on my blogging, rather than ramp it up. I have to buckle down with my work, and I’m realizing that the time has to come from somewhere. Since I have almost no other leisure activities, this is where it has to come from… (Pardon me while I wallow in self pity…Okay, I’m done now.)
But I’ll keep reading you. And hopefully won’t have to give up the blogging all together.

Wallow away, alejna. Anyhow, I doubt I’ll blog every day, though I may actually end up with 365 posts by the end of the year.
Gosh, I hope you won’t have to give up blogging altogether – I really enjoy visiting your place. π

Couldn’t do the 365 thing. What about holidays, az? You know, getting out of town for a while, being on the road, wind in your face sort of stuff? Wouldn’t 365 feel like an obligation?

Sadly or otherwise, I don’t take ‘proper’ holidays, ian. It seems the longest I ever get away for is about four days. And when I went to Barcelona in January 2007 it was the first time I’d been away (other than overnight and day trips) since I had to go back to Canada for 10 days in 1999 to get a visa.
Last year when I went to Barcelona and Lisbon (4 days each) I didn’t do any blogging. But when I went to Tavira in March (yep – 4 days) I had two posts timestamped to publish while I was away, posted one from my friends hotel and then one on the evening I came home.
So holidays are certainly not going to be a ‘problem’.
Anyhow, I don’t really feel obligated to do this. It’s just sort of a fun challenge thing that adds a little structure to my day and gets me thinking. And I haven’t resorted to too many quizzes or “me-me’s” yet. π
