Five-legged cat to lose two paws
A five-legged cat is to undergo surgery to remove a superfluous paw growing from the left side of her body.
The operation will not make her a four-footed feline, as vets also plan to amputate a deformed left hind leg.
I’m amazed she lived as long as she did in the street like that, as she is clearly not a kitten. Though I did know of one street cat in Toronto that didn’t have any front legs at all. Then of course there is my very own Azar who lost the use of his front left leg (it now looks like a little hockey stick) when some *&%#! tried to kill him not long after he was born in the street.
Anyhow, it says in the article that nobody has offered to adopt Baby Girl yet. I’d take her in a minute (and immediately change that stupid name) if someone wanted to pay the airfare.

Change the stupid name indeed. But what to?

Legs Diamond? Nah, too long.
Crazy Legs? Something with legs in it, I reckon.
I shall give it some thought…
It would be fun having a menagerie à trois again. 🙂

It reminds me of that (human) baby that was born with four arms not that long ago. They removed two of them, but I wondered if she would thank them for that or not when she grew up. I mean – how useful would two extra arms be?! (Better if they were retractable though I guess.)

Yeah, for all those times when you say you’ve only got two hands? Too bad it doesn’t actually work that way – retractable ones would be great.
I saw a short video of Baby Girl walking (actually, either Baby or Grrrl work better separately as name options) and it looked very awkward, even painful. Clearly neither of the two left hind legs are working properly, so she will probably be much better off on three legs.
Azar has no problem getting around on three and a bit.

how about “Legs Eleven” or Leggy or Lego?

well, if conjoined twins are called Siamese — would she now be not-so Siamese?
Maybe not, as she only had an extra foot, not an extra whole cat …
Fifth wheeler? Pedi-cat?
