Soooooooo grossed out yesterday when Luna came into the bathroom while I was in there to use the cat box and when I went to scoop out her poop I found it alive with squiggling white worms! I knew she’d been treated for worms and fleas by the two Greek girls who had taken her in, but apparently I should have given her another course of deworming meds four weeks later (except I didn’t know when she’d had it done the first time). And so she is on day two of a three day course and doing well. No sign of worms any more but will have to ask Yolanda if I need to do this again in four weeks as I didn’t do the follow up last time.
I was going to take Luna in this week for another leukemia test, and to get her vaccinations done, but was told it’s still too soon. So I made an appointment for two weeks from now. And I guess all will be revealed then. Meanwhile I hope the boys don’t get worms, as Luna has been using all three cat boxes in the house. It’s always something…
Not long after I got my dog he was sick in the back of the car – and that was alive. It truly is gross, isn’t it? Having pets really is a biological experience.
Fingers crossed you see no signs on the other two.

I was looking up remedies and some people were asking about garlic…. I never knew this but onions are toxic to cats, garlic somewhat so!
“Onions contain a substance (N-propyl disulphide) which destroys red blood cells in the cat, causing a form of anemia called Heinz body anemia. Garlic contains a similar substance in a lesser amount.”

Blech! That’s no fun at all. Hope your household is worm-free soon.
