Last week Luna’s operation was postponed due to stormy weather. The prospect of trying to get her to the vet in the pouring rain with neither of us able to use an umbrella (Peter – carrying cat, me – crutches) while attempting to find a taxi… no way. So today was the day and, as it dawned bright and sunny, we were off to see Sonia and team.
A few hours (and 400€!) later we were home again with a very groggy Luna. I made up a little bed for her on the living room floor, with food and water and a litter box nearby, but she kept wanting to be up on the sofa. Sonia had said not to let her climb up on things but in the end I gave in and let her stay on the sofa and put cushions all around on the floor in case she fell off. She didn’t. In fact, she spent most of the time gazing lovingly at her favourite person in the world (hint: it’s not me) and a while later was ready for a little paté and water.
They removed two cysts and various nodes around the nipples and so now we wait for the biopsy to come back. She has to go back on Friday to get the bandage changed, so we might know by then. I’m so nervous. I’ve told her that after spending so much on her operation she owes me at least 5 more years… hope she listens (for a change). Oh Luna, please be okay… 💙
