Raindrops on roses . . .

Found this in my drafts – I’d started it a few months ago but somehow never got round to posting it. Anyhow, a cold rainy winter morning seems like a good time to think about a few of my favourite things. In no particular order . . .
- purring cats
- the smell of coffee in the morning
- thunder & lightning storms (when I’m warm and dry inside)
- Sunday mornings (and occasional cat days)
- hugs & cuddles
- bursting out laughing
- fresh sun-dried sheets
- yoga class
- tapas and wine outdoors on a warm summer evening
- the way Nog smiles at me when he wakes up
Suddenly I can think of tons more. What are some of yours?
Waterfalls, being curled up in bed on winter nights, the sun on my skin on summer days, hot crusty bread, and of course, the way az smiles at me when she’s happy.

It’s funny, I have a whole bunch of things which make me happy, but when someone asks me to name them…pffttt, gone! Something like–
Cats playing, sleeping, tussling, purring
farmer’s markets
warm days in the sun, watching the birds
driving/walking around, looking at houses
visiting with friends
watching the ocean
watching a space launch
museaums
bookstores, libraries
hot fresh bread
taking naps with Michael, back in the day

Have to agree with everything on your list az, except yoga, (god I hate it, because I find it hard to be slow and still, in the company of a lot of females in lycra), and no it’s not cos I’m getting excited, I just find it very hard to be slow, still and stretchy, full stop. Oh and the way Nog smiles when he wakes up. 😉 I’m teasing, I’m sure it’s wonderful.
Some I can think of quickly,
Waterfalls
Rivers
First warm day of spring avec birdsong
Staying up all night to see in the dawn with someone lovely
Take-off in an aeroplane
A great film, and I mean great.
And yes I absolutely agree about laughter, in any circumstance.

No lycra in my yoga class, Fanny. It’s mostly people 40+ wearing loose & comfy cotton stuff, and it’s about 40/60 male/female. I had to take some time off recently due to back problems, which is why I’m especially enjoying it now.
Oh, and Nog’s morning smile is not one anyone else would ever see … it’s just so lovely when I wake him up and as soon as his eyes open and he sees me there is this very spontaneous happy smile that happens *sigh*.
I also forgot to mention ADSL as one of my favourite things – using dial-up is better than nuthin but still rather frustrating.

I could go on and on – except I have suffered from the same sort of pffttt as SC

Excellent – as long as you manage to get back to sleep
