A poem for the love of my life on his birthday…
My Love
Your skin glows like the banana, blossoms shiny as the gardenia in the purest hope of spring.
My heart follows your guitar voice and leaps like a coyote at the whisper of your name.
The evening floats in on a great swallow wing.
I am comforted by your jumper that I carry into the twilight of sculpturebeams and hold next to my thigh.
I am filled with hope that I may dry your tears of water.
As my bottom falls from my sock, it reminds me of your window.
In the quiet, I listen for the last music of the day.
My heated breast leaps to my overcoat. I wait in the moonlight for your secret sky so that we may warble as one, breast to breast, in search of the magnificient blue and mystical ship of love.
Happy Birthday honey!
Many thanks to Archie and the Love Poems Generator.
And not a toenail in sight 🙂

Nothing beats a good twilight of sculpturebeams.
Happy birthday, Nog… 😀

That’s rather good. I wondered why az was asking me about my favourite words.
I’m not sure about having skin that glows like a banana though….
Thanks for the good wishes. An added pick-me-up to go with coffee in bed.

Coffee and arabic pastries – mmmm…
Yes, Nog had no idea yesterday that he was co-authoring his own birthday love poem. Which made it extra funny this morning as he recognised some of the words I’d asked him for yesterday. 🙂

In keeping with our tradition of giving each other a trip for our birthdays, here is where we’ll be going on the 25th (weather permitting).
Horeseback Riding Through Doñana National Park
Nog has never been on a horse in his life, and it’s been quite a few years since I’ve ridden, but we’re told that it is pretty much an easy walking pace so no special horse-riding skills are required.
Sounds like fun, doesn’t it?

Happy Birthday to Noggin.
Any special plans for this evening?

Ah, the usual … birthday dinner out at Casa Robles. Probably quite similar to my 50th birthday dinner except we’ll most likely be sitting inside as it will be in the evening (actually, about an hour or so from now).
Hey, did you see the photos of our lunch out on andalucía day? We thought of you and J as that was the first place we all went for lunch together with the mini-meet group. 🙂

Thanks everyone. Nice to still be remembered even though I haven’t been around much lately.
And as many of you will know my birthday is also the anniversary of my first, albeit virtual, meeting with az, so a double celebration really.

Happy Birthday (am I belated or not? Sorry). Don’t forget a hot bath after the ride; no sense getting saddle sores!

Thanks raincoaster, but I’ll worry about after the ride when I get to the end of it. In the meantime any tips on how not to fall off during the ride would be appreciated.

A massively belated and hugely heartfelt Happy Birthday to Nog!
And I’d suggest super-glue, myself. 😉

Nog is saying that he thinks he’d rather fall off than put superglue anywhere near his private bits. Or velcro for that matter. 🙂
We’re waiting until closer to the date to make the reservation. Apparently they will postpone the trip if it rains, but if it’s ‘just drizzling on and off’ they’ll go ahead as planned – and no refunds are given. And frankly, spending the entire day at Doñana – and on horseback – in the drizzling rain is not really our idea of a good time.
There’s a risk that they might be fully booked closer to the date, but they have these trips every couple of months or so and it’s less likely to rain, say, in June than in March.

Sorry I missed your birthday Nog! It was a bad week. I went to a funeral of the 20 year old son of a friend on the first of March.

Understood. Such occasions are always very hard, as I know from experience. There seems so little that one can say or do.
