Possible spoiler alert!
At least for those of you who haven’t seen the final episode of the third House series. Read on at your own peril …
I saw it last week and thought – meh, big deal. In any case, I reckon they’ll all be back, don’t you? Though I’m actually quite tired of Cameron and even think that a whole new team might perk things up a bit (with the old team members as kind of regular ‘guest stars’).
Does anybody have any other theories? I thought firing Chase like that was just lazy writing. I dunno, maybe the series has run its course?
Nog and I just watched the first two episodes of series 3 back-to-back … I think we’ve seen them all now.
And so … now what?
Ah, I haven’t seen this one yet, but I love spoilers so that’s cool!
But firing Chase? Why don’t they fire Forman, he’s so gloomy all the time. In fact, fire all of them, and have a new set of stooges for House… let’s face it, he’s the interesting one.
Did I say interesting? I meant SEXY!!!!

You love spoilers? Okay.
So, you didn’t know that Foreman had quit? And that House had been riding him for about two or three episodes for ‘not participating’ enough and then suddenly upped and fired Chase. Then Cameron and Chase got back together and she resigned (or maybe that was the other way round, not sure now).
I have to admit I’m a bit confused about some things having watched all three seasons since February, and not in order. I wonder when they’ll start showing season 4 here. (addicted? moi?)

I have a feeling the series has run its course – there cannot be that many more new diseases for them to get confused by. Also, the key to House, is House. A grumpy curmudgeon who is saved only by his brilliance. As an employer I would have sacked him during the second series. But I like the guy and hope there is a fourth series.

Yeah, one does have to suspend one’s disbelief with regard to so many bizarre and obscure medical conditions showing up at that one particular hospital. Unless this actually goes on everywhere and people just end up dying misdiagnosed.
I think a new team and some new personal crisis/dilemma for House could be a good idea. I don’t think Bryan Singer would ever let the show slip into mediocrity.

And what is wrong with being a crippled curmudgeon who eats vicodin like sweeties?
It could be an accurate description of me, so it’s no wonder I love this guy and cannot understand why everyone else on the show has such problems with him.
btw – sorry for the gap in attendance at casa az, ben having medication problems (they tried me on morphine patches and almost killed me, but hey that’s life).

Hey Math! Great to hear from you again. Sounds like I’ve missed a few ‘episodes’ of your personal adventure … details in an email please, when you have time?
The great thing about a character like House is that whatever ‘made him that way’ means that he is quite a multi-layered personality and so it’s always possible to find out more and more about what makes him tick. Like that time (spoiler alert) that he talked about his father abusing him by putting him in a bathtub full of ice when he misbehaved.
I think he is saved from coming across totally despicable by those occasional glimpses of what lies beneath, when he is able to lower his defenses for awhile.
It also helps that he is outrageously witty and extremely gifted & intelligent (as well as dead sexy, right truce?).
