Part 1 is over here.

I came across these interesting questions this morning on Charlotte’s Web after I was told by healingmagichands about Charlotte’s seriously cool looking colour-coded bookshelves, and I thought it would make an excellent ‘part 2’ to the previous post here on how people blog. Here are my answers. Feel free to tag yourselves (if you post the answers on your own blogs please leave a link to them here so we can read them too).

1. Do you promote your blog?

Not especially, though I do have links to both this blog and my new Sevilla Tapas blog on my h2g2 personal page. Having said that, I am actually promoting the tapas blog here in Seville by handing out the URL to the people working at the various restaurants and tapa bars. They are getting such a kick out of seeing themselves there. My other blogs are listed here, but I don’t promote them in any other way.

2. How often do you check hits?

I check my stats page probably a couple times a day, but mostly to see who’s been visiting via the ‘referrers list’ (and then wonder why they didn’t leave a comment!).f_wah.gif

3. Do you stick to one topic?

Hell no. It’s pretty eclectic around here, topic-wise. It just depends on whatever happens that day or catches my interest.

4. Who knows that you have a blog?

Quite a few people, I reckon. Mostly other bloggers and friends from h2g2. Most people I know in RL don’t tend to blog much.

5. How many blogs do you read?

I subscribe to about 30 blogs. Most I read daily, others I check in on now and then. These are mostly friends’ blogs. In fact, this reminds me that there are a few more I want to subscribe to as I keep forgetting to go back and check unless they are on my feedreader thingy. Though I admit to being somewhat addicted to ICHC as the silly pics there always make me laugh.

6. Are you a fast reader?

Fairly fast. But I find I have trouble reading long passages of text on-screen. Does anyone else have this problem?

7. Do you customise your blog or do anything technical?

Well, I’ve got the customised header and I always use a pic of some sort that relates to each post. Anything technical? No. But I’m interested in checking out the CSS option here, though I’d need the help of a geek friend to get it looking good *waves to Dan*. πŸ™‚

8. Do you blog anonymously?

No, to me that would rather defeat the purpose of why I blog. Which is mostly to connect with other people. I did have a couple of private blogs going awhile ago, in order to rant about more private stuff, but those are now defunct. Though I still have the private space blog going in case I ever want to post something I wouldn’t want to share with the public at large. It’s a blog that is only for password protected posts because I feel that putting such a post on casa az would look a bit rude or unfriendly. Oddly or otherwise, most of the posts on private space were started by other people.

9. To what extent do you censor yourself?

Possibly not enough? I dunno. I don’t tend to post anything here that I wouldn’t mind anybody I know coming across.

10. The best thing about blogging?

Oh, where to start? I love talking. And listening (in this case, reading and listening). I love connecting with people and sharing ideas. And the vast spectrum of different people I can meet online like this is so much more interesting and challenging that with who I often get to meet in my day-to-day life. Partly because they are friends from all over the globe and I guess also because they share my joy of communicating and sharing stuff.
