Remember when I was so obsessed about wanting this HP tablet? Well, I’ve changed my mind. During a trip to Fnac to visit my erstwhile heart’s desire this evening I ended up having another look at the same size Toshiba notebook and deciding that it was a better deal for the same price. It doesn’t have the cool swivel touchpad screen that’s on the HP model, but it has the same clear anti-glare screen as SB and much more. . .
- Ultra-portable 2-kilo notebook PC with 13.3-inch TruBrite widescreen

- 200 GB hard drive, 2 GB installed RAM (4 GB max)
- multi-format/dual-layer DVD drive
- Quad-band Wi-Fi LAN (802.11a/b/g/n), 10/100 Ethernet
- Intel GMA 950 video card with up to 256 MB of shared memory
- Connectivity: 3 USB, 1 FireWire, 1 VGA, 1 S-Video, 1 ExpressCard 34/54. 5-in-1 memory card reader
- Pre-installed with Windows Vista Home Premium (with Media Center capabilities)
Meanwhile the same two problems exist . . . that I don’t have 1200€ and I don’t have any real need for an ultra-portable groovy cool notebook. 😕
Can it make toast and coffee?

And he makes very fine coffee, it must be said!
Meanwhile, I can’t figure out why I am getting so obsessed about these beautiful small computers. When Nog and I were out walking this afternoon and had to go to the El Corte Inglés supermarket I said I wanted to go upstairs to see what little laptops they had there. And there it was!
It put me in mind of guys who are obsessed about visiting car showrooms and wanting to test drive cars they know they can’t afford. Just cos they are so darn gorgeous.
Should I be seeking professional help?

I had a similar dilemma when I was needing a new computer last spring. I have limited money, so I got a Dell as opposed to the iMac that was twice the price with similar capabilities. But I am actually quite happy with my choice: I’ve had few problems and the 19″ flat screen monitor is awesome. Priorities, priorities…

Yeah but … I don’t even need a new computer. I just want this one! But yes, in terms of priorities it doesn’t even make the C-list.
When I bought the Jag I was pretty broke and had to settle for less than what I wanted. It served me well for about four years, and is still useful as a ‘backup’, but I always wished I’d gone for the flatscreen option.
Wow – 19 inches! I’ll bet it’s awesome.
