TORONTO — Acclaimed jazz and rock guitarist Jeff Healey was remembered Sunday as a musician of rare ability who had a wicked sense of humour and a generous nature as fans and bandmates mourned his death at age 41, following a battle with cancer.

I hadn’t heard of jeff healey before but it’s very sad that he died so young

It’s been more than 15 years since I saw Jeff play in Toronto and I just love the song in that video, written by John Hiatt (another personal favourite).
I didn’t realise that the cancer that took his eyes as a child was a life-long recurring threat and cause of suffering. He always seemed so damned happy, you know? I like to think he had a wonderful life in spite of all the difficulties.
