Picked up Sexy Beast from computer hospital yesterday, all shiny and freshly repaired. The previous day Susan (aka Pipocas) had dropped off an extra printer she had at home and won’t be taking back to the US when she moves next month. The printer on my 3-in-1 machine had been broken for ages but the scanner still works, so now both are set up on the bookshelf unit. Compared to the old “blogging space” things are a bit more cluttered, but also much more functional. A few more shots below…

When not on my lap Shadow now “resides” on that little moveable end table, which is usually either next to the comfy chair or beside my bed. And now SB is also hooked up to a flat screen monitor that Susan gave me a couple of months ago. It has a lot more contrast than SB’s monitor and this will help me when editing photos for Sevilla Tapas.
Back shot of SB … I thought they were going to replace the whole screen but in the end they were able to just stick a new lid on. They also loosened the left hinge a bit. Anyhow, she’s good as new. I’d been hoping to add more RAM and HD to bring her up to speed with Shadow, but it was going to cost 85 euros. Maybe some other time.
Here’s a shot of Shadow with his new technogel feet.
And below at the comfy stair station.
And an extra bonus – I now have two fish tanks! 🙂
It’s good having the old girl home again. And this week (once I can stay out of bed for more than a couple of hours) I’m going to start printing up biz cards, more brochures for the Restaurant English courses, level tests, etc. It’ll be great having a working printer at home after so long – thanks again, Pip.

Glad to hear the Beast is home. Good that you are getting so geeky. Not even I have two monitors…yet.

You didn’t? You must have missed that post, nursemyra. It won’t be long now.
Don’t Be Sad Because It’s Over…
I have to admit that, now that SB is home, it feels totally decadent having two laptops, Silverstar. But SB is pretty much going to be a desktop from now on as she weighs twice as much as Shadow, and I like having the two monitor option. I think you will find my photos less orangy now that I can check my editing & enhancement on the other screen. Everything tends to look a little washed out on SB.

It bis always good to get things back and in working condition – this weekend has been one of great frustration here – we changed ISP’s (meaning we got in a new satellite dish and stuff but the wireless system broke down and it has taken all weekend to get our wireless network going again. Oh, and i am running both old and new laptops (one xp and one vista [spit])- just because i can. It also allows me to be both my blogging identities at the same time 🙂
btw, orange is good!

At work (the gov’t office) they have set up most cubes with 2 monitors…. Since we have to scrutinize documents and copy info to Excel and Word from the legal DB, it’s easier to see all your work open at the same time than to have to keep maxing and minimizing windows every 30 seconds.
No fish tanks, though.
