I know I shouldn’t have, but it seemed like a good idea at the time.
Until Azar flipped out and hid under the bed for an hour.
I apologised profusely…he eventually got over it.
This was the ribbon off my Christmas prezzie from Nog.
(I’ll show you that tomorrow)
You don’t know better by now? You better beware the Lair Cats!
Not only is he adorable, but the post made me laugh. Good thing Azar is there and not here, or I’d be in serious difficulties for my irreverence, I’m sure.
Thing is, he didn’t really seem to realise that he had a ribbon around his neck (though he knew something was up) for the longest time, but once he did … zoom! Right under the bed, in super sulk mode. Of course then I got worried that he might get the ribbon tangled up and choke to death, so I ended up spending an hour trying to coax him out … but yeah, he did look pretty cute.
We put kerchiefs around our hounds’ necks. Edie got a red one, and Ernie got green. They were quite festive, and our two were happy to be part of the celebration. However, our new cat, Molly, views all such behavior with dark suspicion.
One of the cats here has an enormous bald spot from his incessant licking and scratching of it. I’ve discovered that if you give him a good wipe-down with Bag Balm, this super-emollient stuff invented for cow’s udders (about the same size and texture as his belly) he stops scratching. It may be because the irritation is gone, or it may be because he’d rather stare at me sulkily and pretend he’s gonna bite me, but at least it stops him cold for a day or so.
Aww, poor Azar. This must definitely be most undignified for a Cat at His Age, Being The Feline Ruler of Casa Az to be dressed up like this.
The Lair Cats send their sympathies, and offers to wake you up at 2.30 am every morning until Easter as a small token of their support.
I think he just adorable.
