I realised this morning that I have no photos of me with Loki, so here are some very dodgy quality ones taken with the webcam after yoga class. This is me at my desk trying to get some work done, but the little guy kept asking for a cuddle. He has now left me to snuggle up with his best buddy, Azar…

much cuter than those we tried taking, even if you think they are dodgy 🙂

I know – you’re a terrible photographer. 😉
Actually, the trick is to catch Loki when he is in a cuddly mood, not all squirmy like he was the other night, and – most importantly – for me to not wear white!
Webcam photos always come out kinda pixellated. Oh well.

I love the way cats help us at our computers…

I never had a cat that helped me with my computer. I haven’t had a cat that wanted to be snuggly for over 20 years. I’m looking forward to the next cat, which won’t be coming here for at least a couple of years, but I surely want one that wants lap time for a change.
That Loki is growing like a bad weed. How adorable the two are together.

Loki is ENORMOUS now, compared to when he first arrived (less than three weeks ago). He’s really filling out, though he’s still quite long and lanky. But yes, he does love cuddling and will spent (brief) happy moments curled up on my lap or snuggled in the crook of my arm – the last one allows me to still type on the laptop. I say “brief” because he still has next to no attention span, and can also go from dead sleep to leaping after imagined prey in a split second, so he doesn’t usually stay in one position for very long.
This afternoon I realised that Loki still wasn’t included in my “about azahar” page, so that omission has now been rectified. Really cute pic of him & Azar there.

I know how much you love reading long blog posts with no pictures. . . but I did post an account of how we came to have Smokey today. Your description of the kitten attention span (or lack thereof) is so exactly right on.

Looking at your “About Azahar” page reminded me that I promised to do something for you ages ago.
It MIGHT take a back seat to our sudden move. We are moving across the path to a three-bedroom handicapped until. I only applied on Friday for an “internal transfer” to a unit I just found out was available and was told on Monday night that it is ours!
It is a short move and because of the fact that that unit is empty and ours has not had any real work done in over 10 years, we can move at our own pace. However, lots of packing to do between now and… whenever we can start moving in!

Good news on the move! Didn’t know you’d started a new blog. Have you looked into online alzheimer’s forums? I’ve found that the colon club forum has helped me a lot. It’s great having somewhere to go where there are people in similar situations to mine who want to share their experiences and offer advice. For me, getting practical advice is always more valuable than sympathy, though genuine empathy can also be helpful at times. I’ve also made some good friends on my forum. Win-win.

I’ve had that blog for a few years but didn’t really do anything with it. Once Mom’s diagnosis came about, though, I decided to keep it a bit more regularly.
I haven’t checked out the online Alzheimer’s sites. So far, things are okay.
