After posting that comment I realized with a spooky feeling that Mr. Ferguson, who looks like he could have just about spit Loki, also does that thing with pulling the water dish around. Something eerie is going on here…

There are two water bowls. That one in the livingroom and a second one in the bathroom. Turns out the bathroom one is dead easy to tip over, and is apparently Especially Fun to tip over in the middle of the night so that when the Big Cat gets up to use the toilet she goes “oh fuck! wet socks!” and otherwise makes a lot of noise.
Think Loki & Fergie are part raccoon? Loki likes “washing” his toys in the water bowl, as well as his paws. Last night I picked him up and all four paws were soaking wet, making a mess of my white sweater. WTF?

He’s so sweet!
Have you tried letting him play in water in the tub? Maybe he’s one of those rare cats who likes water.
We need more photos (and bigger photos!) and videos.

He almost sounds as a real bad boy 🙂

If I’d realised how cruddy the cat-feeding-&-watering area would look on video I would have cleaned it up a bit before shooting. The floor around the food dishes is always strewn with bits of half chewed kibble, and of course around the water bowl it’s now totally stained and needs to be repainted. Ah well, I reckon it’s impossible to be spontaneous videoing kittehs without also showing off my shoddy housekeeping…

Realised this morning that I hadn’t updated my Fotki gatito album since before Sunny died. So I’ve just don that … about a hundred new photos (some you’ve already seen here or on twitter). Starting on page 8, number 195.

One thing I don’t like is that the photos taken on the iPhone show my location. Any way I can get rid of that?

You can turn it off when you upload it.

Really? I didn’t see anywhere to do that. And I’m sure as hell not going to re-upload everything. In any case, the google maps turn out to be not very accurate.

No. You’re right. It must be in your preferences for your phone.
I was having a problem with my phone which, no matter what I did would not ring. It would either say “Mom” or “Shirin” if it was someone who was in my contacts or read out the number if it wasn’t. ONCE…. I looked everywhere in the preferences and finally had to go down to Bell and get one of their phone techs in Toronto to help me through it over the phone. Even so, it took about 15 minutes for HIM to find the problem, Turned out I had switched on “Call display” which you would think had nothing to do with it READING the number.

Would this help?

Well, that’s a drag. It means I have to turn the damn location services off each time after using apps where it’s actually required. Why the hell should photos automatically use this service when it is switched on? Grrr…

Aww… cute overload again 🙂
Loki’s meows caught the attention of the Lair Cats. Both Lynx and Leopardess searched a lot after the new kitty… Even Tiny cat looked up from his late afternoon nap.
Playing with water is mandatory – Lynx (who will be three y o in May) still does every single day…

Too cute! Joins sledpress on the floor.
Smokey used to drink water by dipping his paws into the bowl and licking the water off them. He developed this habit when we lived in a house that had an indoor fish pond which he liked to fish in. Unfortunately, the owner of the koi was not excited by having a cat catch her $25 fish. (Let us not even go into the question of why anyone would pay $25 for a damned fish.) However, the rule was instituted against fishing, which was done by dabbling your paws in the water until the fish were so curious about them they would come to investigate which would then enable you to snag the fish, throw it over your shoulder onto the floor and the pounce on it, which was a great game. He never ATE the fish, they were only toys, but still, this was very hard on the fish. So, we allowed him to drink from the pond, but no fishing allowed. Hence, when we found him down by the pond dabbling his paws in the water the deceitful feline would immediately start licking water off his paws and telling us “I’m not fishing here, I’m drinking” which would usually get him out of trouble. He never lost the pattern of behavior.
Susan used to love to play in the tub with the wind up plastic tub toys. I have photographic evidence of this somewhere. Maybe Loki is just a water cat. Or maybe he is living up to his name. . .

Last time I paid $25 for a fish it was grilled whole with garlic.
