A very old – and obviously pre-digital camera – photo, taken of a much younger and thinner me on a typical summer day in Sevilla. This past summer it’s been 40º almost every day, which actually makes it a good 5º hotter in the centre of town. Phew!
I thought Hong Kong having had many days over 34 degrees Celsius (when the weather is officially classified as “very hot”) was bad enough… but 40 degrees Celsius… Mamma mia!
No idea. Ever since the “unfortunate incident” involving too much gin when I was 14 I can’t even smell the stuff without wanting to hurl. But I hear Larios is a cheap version of whatever label design they are ripping off.
30.4 C here at 11:35 AM. It gets pretty hot (and humid) from mid-May through much of September around here. I don’t mind the heat but the humidity is disgusting.
I’m not a heat lover, so I think I’d be far too uncomfortable there. Saying that, I was happy to see the sun come back to Britain once August left – it’s been so grey and dismal for the last month. Although I never thought of myself as “seasonally-affected” (I don’t get sad in winter) my mood has perked up amazingly now we’re getting some bright days.
I agree! It was lovely to potter a bit in the garden today, weeding & generally tidying things up, & to have a chat with several of my neighbours – the sunny weather brings everybody out of doors!
Yes, that’s hot! On the south coast of England we’ve had a beautiful July followed by a fairly dismal August. While I’d like it a bit hotter, I don’t think I’m cut out for 40º C.

Ohhhh, that Sevilla heat, I can’t say I miss it. I feel that the summers in Adelaide are mild compared to Sevilla.

It was 34, here, the day before yesterday.

I love heat, LOVE it. But, looking at that picture all I can think is “Gee, I wonder what Larios gin is like!”
So…what’s it like? You can’t get it here.

It’s a ripoff of the Gordon’s label. Gordon’s is already cheap gin.
It’s not a good thing that I know both of those things off the top of my head.

I dream of 40C – here in Perth I am subject to under 20C as maxima. Brrrrrrrrrrrr

Oh I know… come January and I’m wearing two sweaters, socks, sweatpants and two cats to bed I will miss that warm all over feeling.
