Calling all geeks – I need your help!
Why has my wireless mouse suddenly turned into Speedy Gonzales? It’s gone all hyper and double clicks when I just single click, or else takes me to pages I haven’t even clicked on. As for copy and paste – aack! Can’t get the thing to stay put long enough to select a link or piece of text and I end up with the hover thing disappearing before I can copy or – worse! – the whole text disappearing, even though I hadn’t clicked again to erase it. Other times I have to click on something five times for it to “take”.
Anyhow, it’s driving me crazy and costing me lots of lost time online. Just writing this simple post is taking forever because Speedy keeps highlighting things when I just place the cursor somewhere to start typing, and then immediately deletes whatever got highlighted. Arrrgh. Or is it even a mouse problem?
Ayudame?
1º) Disconnect and reconnect the wireless receiver.Once done, try again…
2º) Uninstall and re-install drivers
3º) Blow in the laser transmitter of mouse for remove dust
If none of this works, you must start thinking about buying a new mouse 😦
PD:Sorry for my english :-S

All that, yes, but first, change the battery. That’s what nearly every peculiar wireless mouse problem that I run across ends up being.

Aha! I just replaced the batteries with really cheapo ones from the euro store. Maybe they’re not working properly?

Go get a good new fresh brand name battery. We even quit using rechargeables because they would be flakey just often enough to drive us insane.

Of course it’s also possible that the poor thing has been gravity tested by Loki just one time too many… but I will try the new batteries. These babies are not cheap to replace!

also check the mouse setting on your control panel, maybe you can turn down the speed and sensitivity?

Also – make sure you haven’t got any sticky keys on the keyboard.

I had that problem once. Something was broken within the mouse and I needed to buy a new one. Good luck with it.

The gravity testing could also have affected batteries. I seem to recall that a sharp blow will affect batteries and magnets.

Well, it’s official. Bought brand new brand name batteries this weekend but the mouse remains wonky and unpredictable. Time to get a new one, I guess. Cannot abide the mouse pad on the laptop.
