It wasn’t quite so blazing hot this past weekend so I took the opportunity to break out the BBQ for the first time this summer. Really I should BBQ all year round EXCEPT for summer since usually the only times it’s bearable to do so is either 9 am or midnight… a sunny January afternoon would be much more comfortable. Anyhow, everyone had a great time including little Luna, who took to inspecting all the plants and finding hiding places (as you can see, Loki is content to find a nice shady spot and stay put). I still wouldn’t feel comfortable letting the cats out on the terraza on their own, but they love coming out when I’m hanging up laundry, watering plants, etc.
That old gentleman Azar prefers spending the hot summer days stretched out on the coolish marble floor under my bed. The tumour on his shoulder has almost doubled in size in the past few weeks and I am becoming torn between wanting him to be with me always and not wanting him to suffer. So far I think he is still doing okay, all things considered.
What did you do over the weekend?

Benjamin was out on the new patio for the first time yesterday. I’m not sure he know what to make of it. And, on his harness, he will have a more difficult time getting out of the yard, and a more difficult time getting off his harness.
Poor sweet Azar. Give him some gentle Snibbles for me. And some Snibbles for yourself.

I planted the first plants in the new garden, spent some time looking on the Internet for plants that are hardy enough for our area, bought presents for my Sister’s birthday which was in May but I haven’t had time to get to the mall to get and a gift for my friend’s daughter who is turning 17, and went for a drive south of Ottawa and found another cemetery to photograph.

I’m surprised that – at least so far – when it’s time to come in the two of them are easily herded back into the house. I guess with the harness it’s even easier.
That shounds like a nice weekend. 🙂

Good grief, Luna is into EVERYTHING.
Azar knows where the good places are. Anything to do with Mommy’s bed is prima.

She is everywhere, all the time…
Azar under the bed is also hiding out a bit from Loki, who at least once a day “let’s him have it”. I don’t know why. Of course he tries the same thing with Luna and she makes mincemeat out of him. I guess it’s just a large dude thang and every now and then he has to flex his muscle. I do feel sorry for Azar though and then snigger when Luna goes all ninja kitten on Loki. If only I could convince Luna to protect Azar when I’m not home.

Catching up – a few days in Oxford over the weekend in question. Followed by a week as a tour guide for some German friends of ours.

Well as it happens, the mum in that family is a cardiologist, so I was in good hands.
