So here they are at seven weeks and ready to leave their mother. Decision time looms! Pablo will be back in town tomorrow and will pick the family up. All but one. It’s still between Smudge and Canela (have rethought taking both! probably not a wise idea). So do I go with the pretty orange boy or the feisty smudgy girl?

It has to be el smudge, for reasons I can’t go into.

There’s something about being called “Smudge” – if you’re a smudge you have no definite lines around you, you can change and be what you want, blending with other things doesn’t present a problem and yet the feisty’ness allows for bursting out of the shadows to impress all around you with your talents to surprise!
Would I want to be a stick of Canela or would I want to be a Smudge? No contest for me!
But of course, it is to be your cat – and I wouldn’t want to impose my impressions on anyone, would I?

Of course you wouldn’t! 😀
The thing about Smudge is that she has so much character. I’m pretty sure I’ll go with her, especially as she has got so used to me now. I almost feel like I didn’t give the others enough of a chance to “open up” around me, but oh well. I don’t think keeping them longer will help – I’ll just end up with four more cats that way.

Sounds like the decisions a good ‘un to me but we all knew that anyway, didn’t we? It is interesting how we have guilt feelings about being fair and just with our pets, animals have absolutely no concept of it but we do it anyway.
I share out the treats absolutely evenly and I know that dogs cant count but one of them moves around to the other side of me if she feels she isn’t getting her fair share, She is probably being greedy and its only me that moves it into the concept of fairness.

I showed my niece & nephews your videos and pictures earlier when I was looking after them, and all three of them voted Smudge the cutest.

Both… Love is not a wise decision. And three or four cats… What’s the difference?
