Of all the things on my ridiculously long TO DO list, this was probably very very near the bottom in terms of importance. So of course I just spent the past two hours doing it! Duh.
I don’t know why, but I can’t seem to focus much these days. In theory, as I am still pretty much housebound, this should be an ideal time to catch up on things (as I mentioned over here) but so far my days remain only semi-productive.
Anyhow, this new photo album is a collection of stuff from the street – graffiti art, windows and doorways, pretty tiles – that have caught my eye over the past year or so. All are up on my Instagram too. You’ll see a lot of imaginatively painted store and bar shutters as well as garage and house doors. The reason for this is because somehow graffiti vandals will respect another person’s work and not defile it (no doubt wrongly assuming they are brothers in arms). Meanwhile, there’s a massive difference between graffiti art and shitty blobby tagging, but hey, as long as this works. Makes for some interesting walks around town.
I know, it would seem that some enforced down time would be perfect for catching up on stuff. The reality, at least for me, is that it’s enforced lethargy, which is not great for mental energy. I find the busier I am, and the more I move, the more I get done, and the sharper my thinking. You’ll be better soon. It just takes time (but you know that!)

Enforced Lethargy! I love that. And I love that you “get it”. Yes indeed, the busier I am the more I get done, fitting in trips to the gym, shopping, house stuff, seeing friends, all sorts. As for sharp thinking… huh? Forget it. I feel so dull and floppy. To wit have dug out some small hand weights in case I feel inspired enough to at least exercise the upper part of my body. Or maybe I’ll just spend another hour putting captions on those street photos…

Sorting photos is such a stupefying task that if I felt any inclination to do it, I’d roll with it. You never know when it will come again.

Not just sorting… I had to take them off my Instragram. Which meant going through all the photos there, taking screen shots, then cropping them, then adding watermark… gaaaaaaaaaahhh.

There are some fabulous pics in that lot! I particularly liked No 58 (with the red & white tiles & the dog in the foreground) and No 14 (woman hanging out washing). Made me smile, anyway.
