It’s orujo! A pomace brandy made from the grape skins, seeds and stalks after wine pressing. Usually about 50% alcohol. Orujo blanco (white orujo) is pure rocket fuel and actually very good. I don’t usually like the commercial orujo de hierbas (with herbs) as it’s kind of sweet and meh. This one, however, is orujo de hierbas made in house at La Pepona, with their own recipe. Looks even better when the bottle has come straight from the freezer and is encrusted in ice.
What is this tasty-looking concoction? 🙂
