So I watched Deadpool last night (LOVED IT) and this catchy song was part of the soundtrack. I was, and still am, sure that I have heard a much older version of this, or something very similar, but I cannot place it or find it. So this’ll do for now. The song I’m thinking of is probably 50s-60s. Any ideas?
UPDATE: My friend Steve sent me a link to this, which was the one I had on the tip of my musical memory…
And then Deb informed me there was also a version by the Ikettes. Great detective work guys!

According to Wikipedia it samples I’m Blue by the Ikettes and I can kind of hear a similarity in the “Shoop” bit and the “I’m blue” bit respectively…but maybe because I’m looking for it?

You get the prize! Though I’d also posted this on FB and my blues-obsessed friend Steve sent me a link to I’m Blue by The Sweet Inspirations, which is more up tempo than the Ikettes version (just checked) so it sounds almost identical to the SaltnPepa (ahem) ripoff.Good work Deb!
