Switched on the TV last night and the first thing that popped up on the Movistar default screen was… JAWS. And then I saw that it was released 50 YEARS AGO… and I couldn’t believe it. I remember going to see it at the cinema and I could’ve sworn I was at least 25, but nope. Anyhow, I don’t know how many times I’ve seen this, but it’s a bit like The Sting. Whenever I see it pop up I just watch it again.
You’ve known me long enough that you probably *will* believe this: I never saw it.
I mean, it’s part of the culture, and I remember reading the first chapter of the book, probably while browsing at the library (I miss libraries, quiet, eventless, peaceful libraries… now they’re all “happenin’ places” and I can’t even). But I just… never really liked going to movies that much, and less as I got older. So while I would walk uptown for “Jean de Florette” or the Branagh Henry V, and any good sci fi offering would get me out of the house, the box office blockbusters mostly missed me.
But yeah, it has been 50 years.

Also found Rocky on TV last night and rewatched that. Also 50 years old. Yikes.
