hello harrietAs if I didn’t already have enough reasons to love my lovely friend Victor @welovemalaga… meet Harriet. Victor found her in the street a week or so ago and, well, couldn’t just leave her there. And so she has a new home with a loving human and – so far – a not so happy Winnifred (resident queen cat). But I’m told that Harriet is working her way into Winnifred’s heart poco รก poco. It took exactly 2 seconds to have me madly in love with her, possibly less. That belly, Sled! Aren’t you just melting??

world cat dayLuna ~ Morcilla ~ Loki
Lua ~ Azar ~ Sunny

It came to my attention on Twitter that August 8th (yesterday) was World Cat Day. But really, every day is a celebration of cats here at casa az. These are all my Spanish cats, past and present. They helped make these past 21 years the happiest of my life. Every day they make me smile and bring out the best in me.

reconnected
If any of you have tried to call me on my landline in the past – oh… maybe year or so? – you would have noticed that I didn’t pick up. This was because of the addition of this little monster darling girl to the household. Turned out that, just like Azar, Morcilla has a penchant for chewing on electrical cords, especially the skinny ones, and soon enough she had discovered the two cords leading from the phone on the table over to the wall, and chomped them both in half. So I put “repair or get new telephone cords” on my To-Do list but realised Morcilla would just do it again unless I found another place to put the phone deck, closer to the phone connection and plug socket. Somehow during all this time I didn’t find a solution until my recent day trip to IKEA when I spotted this little silver shelf and thought it would be just the thing. And so it is. Got it mounted yesterday with a minimal amount of swearing (WHY IKEA have you stopped including screws with things like these???) and now all cords are (not so neatly) tucked behind the router. Out of sight, out of mind? Let’s hope so.
