Another rainy week or so coming up. Thank goodness. Passed through the previous barrio today and, while I wouldn’t want to live on this street anymore, it still has its charms (at least during the day).

Calima is an atmospheric phenomenon that happens when Sahara sand drifts over to Spain, leaving the skies an eerie orange hue and affecting air quality. When accompanied by rainfall it becomes lluvia de barro (muddy rain) and the dust and sand particles are dragged down to earth, covering every possible surface. Good idea to stay in. And watch out for zombies.

Other than a brief respite mañana (so I can hopefully get some laundry done) it looks like it’s going to be non-stop RAIN for the next ten days. At least, we hope so. It’s been such a dry winter that there is a serious threat of drought this summer in Andalucía. So it’s time to stay cosy and dry inside, do some cooking, work on the website, read and do photo editing, etc and basically breathe a sigh of relief. The rain is finally here.
