So after telling dragonqueen and Ivan this morning how the Andreas04 skin was the most functional, I read the latest WordPress news about custom header images now being offered on the Connections skin, which I thought was pretty coolisimo. And so I switched to Connections and for awhile I had my own personalised header – the top logo from the azahar clothing website (green bar with orange flower) – and of course once I got that up I then also had to faff around for ages reorganising my sidebar widgets.
But then I noticed that skin had a very dull olive-green bar across the top with Home and About on it and it really clashed with the bright green on the website header. And once I noticed it I really couldn’t live with it. 😦
Ah well, the custom headers should be available on more skins soon. Meanwhile, I think I might try out my original skin again for awhile . . .

Well you see, back when I was green and leafy over here on WordPress, I discovered this skin (called Almost Spring) and thought it was very pretty and started using it. *Except* I couldn’t find a way of writing an ‘always on top’ introduction. Without it the page looked very abrupt – just going straight into the latest post with no greeting or anything. And then today whilst faffing around I said to myself – hmmm, wonder what that text widget is for. . .
Well, this was after me downloading my top logo as my header image on the Connections skin – and if it hadn’t been for the clashing greens I’d probably still be there. Meanwhile, since I’d already reorganised all my widgets for a single sidebar I decided to try this skin again.
I like it! Might even keep it. 🙂
Updated my About page too . . .

This skin looks good – I like it better than the previous one, actually, but then I’ve always been a fan of that particular shade of green.

Yeah, this is the skin I was playing with yesterday using the azahar clothing logo as the header, but the clashing greens were just too much. This heading works better colour-wise, not to mention it being rather silly, but I think I still prefer the Almost Spring skin.

Yeah, it’s growing on me, though perhaps I should ask Mudhooks if she can put a couple ‘angels with fur’ under my left arm there. It’s also a bit of subtle advertising . . . 😉
Why don’t you try a personalised header, PC? I think this page set-up is quite similar to the one you’re using, so you wouldn’t have to fiddle with yer widgets too much just to try it out.

Mudhooks is ‘on the case’. I sent her a few cat photos to work with, so should have little cat angels to complete the pic soon.
There is supposed to be an angel in the crook of my left arm anyhow (as per the original) but putting my image there blocked it out.
I really must learn how to photoshop so I can stop pestering my friends whenever I want something like that done . . .

Yeah, I was saying to Ag on ‘the drawing board’ thread that finding this pic reminded me I hadn’t seen that film in ages so we ended up watching it last night – Nog had never seen it before!
