I don’t dare take the quiz myself as I’m quite sure I’d fail terribly. But it’s part of a series of BBC tests that are often quite fun to take.

We just did the Dickens Test together and got 8/12. Then Nog got 9/10 on Geography and 20/20 on Mathematics. Show off! 😉

10/12 for history; 8/12 for French. I haven’t spoken French since 1989, so I’m surprised I could grasp that much.

Well dang! Only got 18/20 on the English test! Mixing up metaphors and similes. Got all the grammar stuff right though, which should come as a relief to my students. 🙂
And only 6/12 on the French test.

I don’t know if I believe this is testing how smart we are. Isn’t this more about how much education you retained? Or got in the first place?

I agree that this has nothing to do with intelligence, hmh. It’s all about how much stuff clogs our memory banks. Me, I have a head that’s full of rubbish, so I’m doing quite well.
8/12 for Dickens. I can’t stand Dickens, so that’s an indication of how much he pervades literature.

Nah, it’s nothing to do with intelligence. I just took the title from the BBC site, though I agree with you hmh that it doesn’t show how smart someone is. Also, ‘How much can you remember based on what you may or may not have been taught at school?’ would have been a rather wordy title. 😉
