You are The Sun
Happiness, Content, Joy.
The meanings for the Sun are fairly simple and consistent.
Young, healthy, new, fresh. The brain is working, things that were muddled come clear, everything falls into place, and everything seems to go your way.
The Sun is ruled by the Sun, of course. This is the light that comes after the long dark night, Apollo to the Moon’s Diana. A positive card, it promises you your day in the sun. Glory, gain, triumph, pleasure, truth, success. As the moon symbolized inspiration from the unconscious, from dreams, this card symbolizes discoveries made fully consciousness and wide awake. You have an understanding and enjoyment of science and math, beautifully constructed music, carefully reasoned philosophy. It is a card of intellect, clarity of mind, and feelings of youthful energy.

Dunno. First I was the Sun but then realised that my favourite colour was no longer green but red, and that I was more into reading/writing/literature than drama/music/painting … so just with those two changes I ended up being the World. 😕
[editors note: turns out I was right the first time, even with the changes … oops]

Hmmm. I don’t think I’m as lucky as this says I am:
“You are The Wheel of Fortune.
“Good fortune and happiness but sometimes a species of intoxication with success.
“The Wheel of Fortune is all about big things, luck, change, fortune. Almost always good fortune. You are lucky in all things that you do and happy with the things that come to you. Be careful that success does not go to your head however. Sometimes luck can change.”

Did anyone see the Derren Brown show where he gave personality readings to three groups of strangers who he’d just met? (One group was English, one American, one Spanish). Everyone was totally stunned by how accurate he was..their life history, their aspirations, their behaviour…everything was spot on. How on earth could he know so much about them? Well – you’ve guessed – he’d given everyone precisely the same profile.
Interesting. Does this make sense to you? Mine totally makes sense to me.
Call me sceptical…I can’t prove it – but I suspect that if I’d written a piece of software which randomly assigned you a tarot card, you’d have been equally convinced. ‘course, believers in the I Ching (aka The Chinese Book of Vague Platitudes) would say that the universe shifts its laws to select the right coins/ yarrow stalks/ tarot cards. Me…I’m not so sure.
(Sorry to party poop. It’s all harmless fun.)

Edward, if you follow the comments you’ll see the card assignment is anything but random, otherwise people would be getting different answers each time. I could go on Fisking your comment, but hey, why would I be “that guy?” Nobody likes someone who spoils a joke, right?

Well, that’s why I went back to being the Sun – I realised I had accidentally clicked on a reply that ended up making me the World (with a bad ear worm). So I tried it three more times and got the Sun each time. So there! 😉

I wasn’t meaning that it was. I was just wondering whether reandom results might appear equally plausible.
Actually…the selection process is pretty mundane, isn’t it? They’ve included some attributes loosely associated with personality types. The cards have vague, non-specific descriptions corresponding to the same types.
“Are you outgoing?” “Yes”.
“Are you passionate?” “Yes”
“Do you like reading” “No”
“You are an Aardvark. Aardvarks are outgoing, passionate and not bookish.”
Oh, I know, I know, I’m taking this waaaay too seriously. But then…I am a Hermit:

On checking the meanings of both cards I find that they both hold meaning for me. In the case of the Hierophant;
pursuing knowledge,
becoming informed,
increasing understanding,
studying and learning,
seeking a deeper meaning,
finding out more.
and the Lovers;
questioning received opinions,
figuring out where I stand,
staying true to myself,
setting my own philosophy,
going by my own standards,
making up my own mind.

Nowt wrong with being a centre of attention as such, is there? Even shy retiring types like me need some attention sometimes.
I can actually see myself in most of the attributes of most of the cards…

“az, don’t you think your blog is a centre of attention?”
Perhaps in a sense, but I don’t think of this blog as being me. I set it up as a place where people could visit and chat about various things and I try to keep the blog entries varied and interesting.
Though I suppose that all people start blogs to attract some sort of attention. But to be honest, being the centre of attention actually makes me feel quite nervous, even afraid, and sometimes sick to my stomach.
