Have you made any?
I’m still working on my list but somehow I have the feeling that this post is going to self-destruct on January 2nd. 😉
I don’t usually bother making resolutions- if I’m too lazy to resolve to do something, I’m surely too lazy to actually DO it. 😉
I have resolved only to continue into the new year with maintaining a healthy lifestyle and not to let anything knock me off track.

I’m just generally trying to be a bit more harmonised in my life in general. But I’ve been resolving to do that since the solstice…so it all depends on your definition of the concept of the ‘new year’.
Plus its kind of a new life resolution…I’ve been trying to sort my head out for years….finally getting somewhere though. Or something.

Hi Alabaster – nice to see you here.
Awhile ago I said over here, the autumn actually feels more like the real new year to me. But I’ve been feeling a bit extra festive so I’m also getting into this new year celebration as well.
Anyhow, it sounds like my resolutions are basically similar to yours and psychocandy’s, carrying over from the epiphany I had last October.
As for the two very typical resolutions – quitting smoking and losing weight – I did actually quit smoking in November but I’ve yet to start losing any weight. So that will probably end up on my list, even though it’s boringly predictable.

quitting smoking and losing weight don’t go hand in hand due to the appetite suppressing nature of nicotine.
I need to be more in control of boozahol and the ‘evil weed’ anyway….increasing harmony and balance.
I’m no good at moderation.
Anyway, my life has been slowly improving over the last few months…and I think its part of a big shift that’s slowly occurring inside..T’ai Chi is working maybe.
Anyway, I had a lovely festive season this year…much lovelier than usual. And I’m going to Wales for a reggae/ska/dub shindig with a mates band for the new year…and that’s going to be wonderful.
The calendar is nonsense anyway.
Still…good luck with the weight shifting and well done on the smoke stopping.
And most importantly…have a happy (harmonised and balanced) new year.

I have only ever kept one New Years Revolution. 15 years ago I revolved never to make another revolution!
And I haven’t!

I haven’t made any, except to not repeat the big event of this year…
I am trying to change, walk more especially, but it’s an uphill battle.
You quit smoking — that’s huge, az! It’s really a hard thing to do, and you did it! YAY, az!! Woo-Hoo!

Well, Nog quit too – and he was giving up a 37-year habit! I don’t think either of us could have done it without the other’s support.
Meanwhile, perhaps you should try walking downhill… 😉

All very well for you to say, missy! Just you try walking downhill both ways!!! Rather like that ramparts walk thingy by M C Escher or a route designed by Moebius…

Okay, okay … point taken! 🙂 Alternatively , you could move to Sevilla – no hills here.

There are places that are uphill both ways. Logically there should be places that are downhill both ways.

The New Year’s Resolution Generator
Mine turns out to be “I will stop writing letters less often”, which sounds like an easy one to keep. 🙂

That generator made me smile.
“I will start hanging out on the corner everyday.”
“I will start cursing everyday.”
I can handle that 🙂
I’m going to try to keep being healthy, exercising. Try to eat more fruit, less hot dogs. Try to keep working hard, and completely relaxing when I’m not working.

The generator gave me “I will start flirting with my friends less often.” Odd, that.
As for my real resolutions: I want to do more listening and less talking, and focus more on schoolwork. The second resolution has already been broken, because school starts tomorrow and I’m last-minuting – I mean really last-minuting – three assignments. Oh, and I also resolve to do more writing.

“I will start spending money once a week” and “I will stop dancing on tables every day” was the both resultions the generator gave me.
I don’t dance on tables but I could do with the money spending, if someone bothered to fund me 🙂
