Oh, I just don’t know . . .
I mean I know I shouldn’t but if I don’t, will I regret it? My friend guspemar got tickets last week – the ‘cheap’ ones for 150 euros. He’s so excited, saying it’ll be a once in a lifetime experience. I guess if I actually liked anything he’d done in the past 20 years I might be more tempted, but I also used to soooo love him when I was 15. And so it would kind of be like when I went to see Frank Sinatra and Buddy Rich (except way more expensive).
Elton has confirmed he will be back on the road in Europe this summer when he brings his outlandish Las Vegas The Red Piano Show there to celebrate his 60th Birthday and 40 years of touring. The ‘Elton John The Red Piano Europe 07 Tour’ will see Elton perform in some of Europe’s most prominent locations including Seville’s Plaza de Espana (Spain), France’s Chateau de Versailles, San Marco in Venice, Italy, Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate (Germany) and at a venue to be announced Moscow, Russia.
So what do you think? Worth it?

I’ve never been to a big concert so I’ve no idea what it’s like and I’m not a big fan of Elton John either.
…but if Rammstein would come to a town near me, I would consider it 😉

Well, all of the European venues on this tour are rather small and unique. Well ‘small’. I mean, it’s not like Wembley. The concert here is going to be held at the Plaza de España and will seat 11,000 people. Though I can’t figure out where the seats will be …

That’s nuthin. The medium-priced seats are 350 euros and in the ‘gold section’ they are 750. The seats in the small and exclusive ‘diamond section’ aren’t for sale on the internet.

150 euros – that’s $300, give or take. I can’t quite believe a bloke with dodgy dress sense and a piano is worth that much. The ‘better’ seats presumably come with a discount at the local mental health facility.

Well, 150 euros x2 should pay for four nights in Lisbon at a decent hotel, so I think that’s what we’ll be doing instead.
I’ll just have to be satisfied with hearing guspemar’s account of it.

the biggest concert I’ve ever been to (at least in terms of money spent for the tickets) was with my ex, who paid $75 each for the Rolling Stones — and it was in the Rose Bowl, seating about a gillion people, all screaming, dancing and *standing up so they blocked my view!* Still, it was a blast, I was deaf for two days after and I danced all night!
Can’t believe what the tickets cost these days! For what you can pay for a local popular band, I saw the Who, Led Zepplin and Janis Joplin, back in the day. Ok, it was quite a few days ago, but even so… I don’t know if it’s worth it. Not unless you *really* love the person/band you’re going to see.
