It was a year ago today that casa az was born.
Previously my only experience with online forums and journals was on h2g2 , started by Douglas Adams and now run by the BBC. And perhaps if they hadn’t had a total ‘blackout’ on hootoo for about two days around the beginning of last May I wouldn’t have looked elsewhere. But I’d seen other friends starting up blogs and because I was already using WordPress as the content manager for my online clothing store I decided to go with them. Another bit of serendipity as all other blogsites I’ve tried out since (just out of curiosity) have shown themselves to be a lot less user friendly.
And so one year, 275 posts and almost 40,000 peeks later I am very happy that things turned out the way they did because my time here has been very special… interesting, enjoyable, at times thought-provoking & challenging, and with the extra added bonus of having met some fabulous new friends. I’m also very happy that several of my old h2g2 pals, and also some of my RL friends, have chosen to come and visit me here.
So thanks for having made this such a wonderful year
and I hope we’ll share many more together!

Congratulations 🙂
(somewhat misses an h2g2 smiley ;))
May many more come around!

I was actually very surprised as to how this past year has flown by – seems like just yesterday that I started this blog.
Anyhow, it’s the people who have also become a part of casa az that have made it special. Otherwise it would just be me at home here talking to myself. 🙂

Congratulations, azahar! And my thanks to you as well. It was due solely to your influence that I chose to begin blogging and to do it on WordPress. It has been a wonderful and amazing experience for me, I have met many great people and read a whole bunch of really great writing. Until you turned me on to blogging, I had no idea what I was missing.
this has become a wonderful substitute for playing solitaire card games on the computer!
Many happy returns of the day.

Hey hmh, I’d quite forgotten that it was me that turned you on to WordPress. Must be almost a year for you too.
I enjoy the stories, and especially the photos, you put on your blog. Glad to hear it’s become such a great experience for you.
And you even say that after having met Archie … 😉

Thanks everyone (you too, Archie – I knew that comment would get you to post something here 😛 ).
SC, I think ‘The Wordsters’ would be a great name for the new biz concept, if my market wasn’t totally Spanish.
Or maybe it would work anyhow? Nobody has commented on ‘Spanglés’ – I’m assuming because you all think it’s crap and are too polite to say so?

My problem is not knowing how things sound to a Spanish ear – sounds good to me, but that’s no guide.
