Even when things are going well, you find yourself fixating on the negatives. Try to remember the times you’ve been able to let your worries go. If you can do that again, you’ll be much happier. |

This is sooooo true and something I’ve been consciously working on lately, hence the little quotation in the sidebar under the postcard of Sevilla (it was the ‘phrase of the day’ in my yoga class on Monday).
Some habits are very hard to break and I will probably always ‘scan for danger’, but little by little I hope to learn not to dwell on my ‘findings’.

You worry a little, but you usually don’t go overboard.
You know it’s good to recognize your fears, as long as you let go of them.
So whenever you start to worry too much, just take a deep breath and relax.
You’re not the worrying kind – and there’s no reason to start.
Basically I worry about some things too much, others not enough (my wife says), so on balance, probably fair.

While you’re not a worrywart, you worry more than you should.
Maybe you don’t have enough to keep your mind occupied at times…
Or perhaps you’ve trapped yourself into some bad thinking patterns.
Try to worry less and enjoy life more. There’s no point thinking about things you can’t change!

Thing is, worrying has never solved anything in itself, unless by worrying you end up deciding to take some action about something.
And I know all this, yet I still worry like a worrying thing … especially at 3am when it is clearly not about to do a speck of good for anything or anyone. 😕

Boy, I’m surprised it’s that low, with all that’s going on for me right now! Still waffling on the move…

Well I know that the ‘borderline unhealthy’ comment applies to me … I worry like a worrying thing all the time!
But I’m working on it …
In your case, SC, I reckon the “you don’t have enough to keep your mind occupied” seriously doesn’t apply in your present circumstance, but maybe it’s a comment on how you usually cope, which in my opinion has always been very well and with a huge dose of humour, even if it is just laughing at the vagaries of life.
You’re one of my personal heroes, you know? *hug*
