The first episode of the fourth series was on TV last night and it was fabulous. The writing is as sharp as ever and I didn’t actually miss the three characters that ‘resigned’ at the end of last season. In fact, I think they had probably run their course and a shake-up like this was what the series needed for it to stay fresh.
Funny how hearing the theme music come on made me realise how much I’d been missing this programme. I got all nostalgic, especially as it was my first foray back into television watching last February, after about 15 years.

You know, I haven’t actually seen the show. We stopped watching TV a couple years back, and when we watch anything, it’s just on DVDs. Among the DVDs we have watched in recent years are episodes of “Jeeves and Wooster.” Hugh Laurie brilliantly plays Bertie Wooster, a bumbling, incompetent, weak-jawed clownish character. With, I might add, basically no sex appeal. It was quite startling, therefore, to next see his face on a magazine with a caption about how sexy he is. My immediate reaction was that he must be a very good actor.

I download this show because I live in Holland (but am from Canada) and I’m waaay too impatient to wait for it to show here. I’ve watched a number of the episodes in season 4 now and it doesn’t disappoint. 🙂 I won’t give you any spoilers though!

(yesterday, before I saw this) anita marie had a link on her blog to a poll where she suggests you vote for her favourite Dr. Who actor as the sexiest man.
I intended to oblige, but when I saw hugh laurie was in the running I voted for him instead.

I’ve tried downloading stuff before but I’m apparently too duh to figure out how to change the formatting so it’ll work on my dvd player (rather than just on the computer). The weird thing is they started showing series 4 here a couple of months ago at midnight (the usual time is 22.20) and as I get up at 6.45 I knew I couldn’t start getting hooked. Anyhow, I know what I’m doing Tuesday nights now.
It’s been ages since I’ve thought of anyone under 40 as eye candy, nursemyra. Don’t you love the American Beauty spoof? Is it clear he’s in a bathtub? (I may have cropped the photo too much)

I would totally hit that. Hugh is a damn fine sexy man… and in general, i tend to agree with az. the young ‘uns just don’t hold much interest for me. can’t imagine having an ‘after sex’ conversation with one. maybe if i install that ‘ejecto-bed’ i’ve been considering…

I’ve only seen a couple of Jeeves & Wooster, alejna, and I agree that upper-class twits don’t tend to be sexy. But drug addicted gimps are a whole other thingywhatsit.
I don’t think he’s as creepy as Chris Walken, uw. Have you seen nursemyra’s link to a video of him cooking a chicken? It’s around here somewhere, I’ll have a look for it a bit later … rushing off to work now.

And I loved the 4th season of House, although I missed a couple of episodes, so I think I’ll have to get the DVD too!

I know … amazingly sexy yet fully-clothed! I think it’s that come hither look on his face (or am I projecting? 😉 ).
Found out that they repeat the Tuesday programme on Saturday, so I should be able to catch the whole series.
