Happy Birthday, Azar, you sweet thing. Quite a story about the way you and Az got together.
My first cat was a tiny, orphaned Calico kitten that I found under a bush in the rain, back in 1974. I named her Nim, short for Nimue, the Lady of the Lake that Merlin fell in love with, who was responsible for Merlin’s downfall.
Anyway, Nim was feral, and the first few months of our relationship was filled with strife, culminating in a dramatic, emotionally draining (to put it mildly) showdown, which transformed her into my loving, little companion for the rest of her life.
What a nice story, toby. I know what you mean about the emotionally draining bit when trying to get a cat to trust you.
Yes, dq, gave Azar lots of snibbles today and told him how wonderful he was … though that’s really kind of like any other day so I don’t think he’s noticed it’s his birthday.
But man – 13 years already! And he really is still very kittenish. You know, Sunny is just two years older but he seems like such an OLD cat now and I worry about him. But Azar is still so frisky and playful and … well, silly. I’ve never known a cat with such a wicked sense of humour before.
