Funny. I’ve actually done a few more items than you, which surprises me. I think this list is a bit biased towards US stuff. (I count 13 US-specific items. Counting Niagara, which I guess is also Canadian.)
I wonder if there were things that you thought should have been added to the list that you have done? And are there things on the list that you’d really like to do?
I’d really like to visit Africa and the Great Wall. Also sell Girl Scout cookies. No, wait. I’d really like to eat some Girl Scout cookies.

I’ll take your word for it, mister anchovy. 🙂
Yeah, I also noticed it was a bit US biased, alejna. And yes, there is a Canadian side to Niagara Falls, which has to be the tackiest place in all of Canada. But in a fun over-the-top sort of way.
Hey, good thinking! I’m going to adapt the list and put the things I’d like to do in italics and cross through things I never want to do. And then maybe add a few of my own things.

Food poisoning is overrated too.
The day I went to the Eiffel Tower the top part was closed for maintenance.
How fast does a motorcycle have to be going to be speeding?
I don’t specifically remember, but I’m sure I must have played in the mud sometime as a kid.
I was selected for jury service, but never called.
I’ve been stung by a wasp.
I make it eighteen, with a few almosts and questionables in addition (see above)

I agree that chicken pox is vastly over-rated.
I think if a motorcycle is going over 10 miles per hour it is speeding.
While I suspect it depends on where and what cruise line you are on, I don’t find cruises over rated, but then I’ve never cruised on the huge cattle car floating hotels either, and you’d never catch me doing that even if they gave it to me for free.
Of the list, there are only 18 items I have not done, and a couple of them I am sure will never happen: I will never run in a marathon and unless there is an act of god I will never hit a home run. I hope that I will never be transported in an ambulance.
Anyone who hasn’t already walked to the top of the Statue of Liberty (I have) will never get to do it because the inside of the statue is closed due to the safety concerns of the helical staircase which is how you get to the top. I’ve never had a baby, never could although I tried hard enough and now being five years into menopause it is way too late. LIke the ambulance, I am hoping I will never be involved in a law suit.
Of the things on that list I have not done, only going to Africa and visiting the Great Wall of China are on my list, and I could skip the Great Wall.
Somethings that are high on my list and not on this one is visiting Machu Picchu in Peru, and the gardens of Kyoto, Japan. I also would like to see the solstice sunrise at Stonehenge sometime. It is a pretty good list even if it does contain quite a few US specific items.

52 for me, but most are “cheats” because they happened through work. Yes, I was in a movie but I was part of a crowd scene so big that I can’t even find myself. Yes, I had a baby, at least I was present and involved with all three of my daughter’s birth. I held a lamb because I grew up on a sheep farm. I’ve met famous people because I’ve been paid to. Etc, etc. as the King of Siam said somewhere. Cheats.
Where are the home made rockets, the walks above the Arctic Circle? The Sun City golf cart traffic jams, the hockey games inside a hollow mountain? The river in Tennessee we got to turn off and on, banging the royal birth stones in Kauai? Floating down a river for an entire day, hunting six weeks for whales with the Japanese (photographically). I would have done better with those. 🙂

someone ought to fix the spelling mistake in #13
if you want to do #49, wouldn’t you also have to do #81?
do you seriously want to read the entire bible? why?
and please tell us about the life you saved…..

Fixed! (cut & paste job – didn’t notice it)
Yeah, but I’m indifferent to doing #81 itself.
I’ve tried reading the bible several times, but have never been able to get past Genesis (though perhaps this version would be more user friendly). Why? Because it has affected so much of history and the world as we know it and I’d like to know what’s in it.
Sorry, but that’s a very private story, just for me and the person who was involved.

Wow! That list exhausts me – its like that book “101 things to do before you die” or whatever its called, which freaked me out because its so full of things I’m not interested in, like bungee jumping, or which had never occurred to me, like visiting the vatican 🙂 I might adapt this meme to be “100 things I’ve done” to make myself feel better!

I like your modifications. Though they make me think more that this is quite an odd list. Most of the items are things that I could imagine someone aspiring to do, but then there are things like “been stung by a bee” and “been involved in a lawsuit.”
And then there is the randomness of “held a praying mantis.” Am I missing something there?

I see on your blog that you linked to a similar me-me that we both did last year, alejna (in fact, last year in December). I remembered doing it but couldn’t remember what it was called. You’re right – there was quite a bit of overlap.
Have you ever…?
Since then I can add two things to that list…
-Had two hard drives for your computer
-Gone without food for 5 days
And curiously, there were two things I had put as having done that I have as not having done this time. Now I’m confused. 😕
In general, I think last year’s list was better.
I don’t think of that stuff as “cheating”, zoomer. I mean, I only built a snow fort because I was born in Winterpeg…

All lists are partly random, and also biased towards the achievements and ambitions of their creators.
So where were
– understood string theory
– read The Critique of Pure Reason in the original.
– given yourself a black eye by walking into a door.
