Yesterday evening I finally got to see Flor’s rooftop garden.
Some of you may remember that I met Flor shortly after going back to yoga in January. Haven’t seen a lot of her recently because she’s been spending a lot of time in Portugal (she has property there with an amazing garden), though she did come with me for my last “chemo picnic” on April 23rd. Anyhow, I’ve been dying to see her place for ages and so after our post-yoga juice break yesterday she invited me to come over after I finished my class with Dr A.
Had a great time, a lovely meal and got to meet Flor’s two cute pups and gorgeous cat. Later on today we’re going to tart up her blog with some of the photos I took, but for now just a wee sneak preview …

Looks gorgeous – and isn’t it funny how that colour combination of deep orange and blue works so well in Spain, but nowhere else? 🙂

It also works in Portugal. But when transferred to the Portuguese neighbourhood in Toronto it mostly looks garish and out of place.

Gorgeous! I also really love the blue and orange combination. I have got to get myself to visit Iberia!

Supposed we’ll hear about whether papers have been accepted to the conference by May 15th. If mine doesn’t get in, I’m also on a group abstract, so hopefully at least that one will get accepted. Once we know about acceptance, then I can start looking into more potential travel plans. But keep your fingers and whatnot crossed!
I do find myself wishing that Barcelona and Sevilla were a wee bit closer together…I’m hoping that if I do go, John and the kiddos can also go. Which will, of course, complicate things hugely.

Re: Barcelona-Seville. Check out Clickair. When Nog & I went to Barcelona for my 50th birthday it only cost us 85 euros each. And if you end up coming with John and kidlets I can find you a nice little holiday apartment – much better than a hotel.
*crossing my fingers and whatnots*

Aha! Nothing can get a cat off the roof like the smell of vittles! He really is a beaut, too.

Just finished putting some new pics up on Flor’s blog. Still some work to do, but I think it’s looking quite nice (check out the pages).

The blue and orange look just fine in the Latino neighborhoods around here. They should look fine everywhere, as they are complementary colors.
I wish we had a rooftop garden here, but they didn’t do such things when this building was built. *sigh*
