Today’s Photohunter theme is “painted”.
Morocco’s famous “blue village”, Asilah, is a slow and friendly place with a colourful Medina that caters mostly to Moroccan tourists. During the month of August, artists from around the world come to Asilah and paint wonderful murals on the white walls throughout the medina. This is a pic I took of my friend Susan (aka Pipocas) in front of one of the painted walls when we went to Morocco last February.

Wonderful image. And such an enlightened community to encourage graffiti – I wish more would.

that’s a great image. I really like the mural — I was thinking about doing the “Mural Project” (High school art students painting the blank walls of downtown Lebanon) but I didn’t get the photos taken and the murals aren’t really that good. I’m sitting this one out, I have too many things to do outside.

Lovely colors… do they paint over the murals each year for a fresh canvas or do they simply use different buildings!
Mine is up here.

I believe they do both srp. Some of the murals we saw (in February) were peeling quite a bit, so with the sea air I doubt they last more than a year.
