Today’s photohunt theme is “foreign”.

When I went to Morocco last year it was the first time in my life that I had the distinct sensation of being somewhere “foreign”, even though I have visited and lived in different countries (and continents) over the years.

would love to go there too one day

I’m curious: So what about Morocco made it feel particularly foreign?

I’ve always related to this quote, which was why Morocco took me by surprise.
I’ve been thinking about this question since yesterday and I’m not sure I have an answer. That first taxi ride from the port to the hotel in the kasbah was like out of a (foreign) film and I had no idea what was in store for me. But after walking around for awhile and chatting with some of the locals I started to feel more “at home”. By the time I left I couldn’t wait to go back (though I am actually still waiting).

Again this is one of those themes that can easily take so many directions. Morocco has always seemed so exotic, wish I had been there. Great shots and perfect for the theme.

Yes, it seems so many countries of the world are much alike now, at least in the photos and documentaries I see. Great photos!

Yes, that’s bread. One of the most wonderful things about Tangier was how the streets smelled of spices and bread, almost all the time. I wished there had been a way of taking that smell home with me.
