Thanks everyone. I had no idea when I started this blog that it would become my daily scrapbook. Been posting every day now for the past couple of years or so. When it was impossible to post (like, when I was unconscious) I doubled up until I got to 365 posts a year. It just started to matter more after I got sick with cancer, to keep a daily record of stuff. And it was especially important to have this as a sort of mini-discipline – to always post one thing a day – when I was recovering from ops and while I was on chemo. Gave a bit of focus to some otherwise rather blurry and sometimes quite awful days.
And well, it totally kept me together that terrible morning that Sunny died last November. It was how I said goodbye to him as I sat here with his body still next to me while I made the slideshow of our life together.
But mostly it’s been good fun. Sharing things here, writing about what’s going on in my life. It really feels like home here, and that is very much because of you guys.
oh, happy blogiversary, my friend. I check your feed every day…my way of reaching across the ocean. I have simpler goals for what to do every day. I am for ‘wake up.’ 😉
Be in the moment, and be well.
I actually did end up celebrating by – you guessed it! – going out for tapas. Nog got an unexpected extra class yesterday afternoon so he invited me out and it was great. A lovely spring evening walk over the river to Triana to try out a place I hadn’t been to for a few years (so I also got to update it on Sevilla Tapas – La Primera del Puente). And on the way home I took (and tweeted) this photo of the Avenida at midnight – you know where this is.
HAPPY BLOGOVERSARY!
I’m glad you’re still here, too!
