Dangerous, certainly, but for whom? Cat or sitter?

This photo reminds me of the cat I had agreed to take in when its owners were moving. However, Benjamin scared him and he went sort of nuts. I had to keep him locked in the kitchen and he would attack us. After days of trying to get him calmed down, I finally got him to the point where he would play with a “cat dancer” that I bought. I was flipping it back and forth trying to get him close to me.
I made the fatal mistake of flipping it so that I was between him and the toy. The next thing I saw was four sets of claws, followed by a cat with the look on Loki’s face, coming at me and knowing that my bare thighs were right where he was going to land. AND because I didn’t want to set back all the work that I had done to get him to the point where I could play with him, I couldn’t flinch or scream. My thighs were torn to ribbons but I managed not to scream…

For the record, Loki isn’t an “attack cat” at all. This pic was taken when he was still very young and we were playing our “paws through the chair” game. I just happened to catch him looking quite ferocious, which was also quite funny considering how tiny he was.
The only thing we have to watch out for these days is a night-time attack on feet – it’s like Loki can’t help himself. And as Nog has restless leg syndrome he sometimes has to shut Loki out of his room at night so he doesn’t end up with his feet slashed to ribbons.

My dog likes to lie behind the floor length curtains in my living room. It’s so funny when he then sits up and he’s wearing the curtains like a hooded cape!
Not so dangerous as Loki’s trick though.

Aw bless, so cute!
No, Harry actually looks like a peasant woman or something wearing the curtains, with the hem on his head and the rest trailing down his back.

My cats tunnel under the sheets when I make the bed…

Yes, Loki also likes to “help” with the bedmaking. He especially loves when I’m changing the sheets – he gets under the bottom fitted sheet and flattens out more and more with each corner I secure until he has to belly across the bed trying to find a way out. For some reason he finds this great fun, especially when I start calling his name as if he’s suddenly disappeared and I can’t find him. Sunny used to like to do the same thing but clearly Azar is above such things.

Yeah, he’s quite an adorable rascal, isn’t he? Not sure about “little” however…

So cute!
Indy loves sleeping under cover. I always have to check the sofa before I sit down 🙂

Sunny used to do the same thing, but Loki has just started this new sofa game so we have to get used to being careful again.

Benjamin always seemed to pick shower time to get himself in a fix. The first time was when I was in the shower and heard this off sound… sort of a heavy dragging sound. I found Benjamin in the hallways with a plastic grocery bag full of canned catfood around his neck. He had been “investigating” and put his head through the handle of the bag and got stuck. He was trying to get down the hallway to the bathroom pulling the bag along with him.
The second time I heard over the running of the shower Benjamin running up and down the hallway accompanied by a loud rustling sound. I looked out to see him flash by wearing what looked like a cape. He ran the other way, again and I could see that he had something over his neck and flapping behind him. Again, it was a plastic grocery bag which he had stuck his head through the handle of. In this case, he had torn the bag down the sides and it was flapping behind him like a cape. Funny, but still dangerous.

Lucky Benjamin! I NEVER leave plastic grocery bags lying around. They get emptied and stuffed into a kitchen drawer immediately. This is because when I was living in Salamanca the neighbour’s kitten (who looked a lot like Loki, come to think of it) would often come over to visit and once got his head stuck in the handle, panicked, and started spinning in circles, tightening it more with each spin. I’m sure he would’ve strangled himself if I hadn’t been in the room at the time and the fright of that moment has never left me.
Whenever Loki hears the shower he comes in to watch. Weirdo. Will have to make a video of him playing in the bidet…
