It’s so appetizing to think that one is eating something fresh, even raw. But alive? Ummmm… except that that photo makes them so… enticing!!!!!!!!

Well, they’re not wiggling around or anything – just cracked open and served immediately. Then a squeeze of lemon and down the hatch. They really are delicious.

I’m only letting you get away with this because you let those little fish in London nibble the skin off your feet.

Uh huh… as if blobby things inside a shell care whether they are killed by being tossed into hot water or slurped down somebody’s gullet.

As long as it’s not wriggling, I can stomach it. 😛

I couldn’t eat them alive… a little steaming or cooking of some kind… *shiver* … Good Pick for the theme, I think? ha ha

Ohhh, when we ever get to Sevilla you MUST take us here, ok? Looks wonderful. I’ve never eaten any “still wiggling” seafood but I’m certainly willing to try. The fresh oysters we eat at oyster bars now must be *almost* alive, right?

They are *not* still wiggling, and I had them in Malaga, but other than that, I’d love to take you and Bob to try them out. I always thought raw oysters were also alive.

Malaga, Sevilla, it’s all Over There to me. I suppose the good oysters really are still technically alive when we hit them with the lemon juice but I’ve never seen one squirm so I don’t really know. I think it’s bizarre that I’ve never even thought about it until you posted this.

I guess the lemon juice “does it”… cheers!

No doubt. And I also doubt they stay alive very long after the shell has been broken open. So a bit like super-fresh sushi. Lovely pure sea flavour…

*aside* Somehow I think it was good that my stay in Seville not was longer – I would have turned into a football in no time. All that food… */aside*
